02/26/2011Best western never said anything about the $* per day parking and the internet could only be used sitting in the halls. the hotel needs a makeover. $* for 2 nights.

This hotel was in a great location, we were about a half block away from the beach. The only problem was that right next to the hotel they were doing construction work so when we wanted to walk to the beach we had to walk on the street or cross over to be able to get to the beach. This was the only problem because you could not hear the noise inside the hotel room so we were not disturbed. The location was excellent if you want to be on the beach all day or you could walk the blocks around there and see the shops and restaurant. However, if you want to go to Miami this is not a good location, a cab is very expensive and a half hour to Miami. Hotel is close to the airport, around 15 minutes cab ride. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was offered, not the best options, but what can you expect for a free breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they helped us with tours and taxi services. I recommend this hotel and would definitely go back. Overall wonderful for the price.

This was our fourth stay at BWOI. The location cannot be beat! Absolutely close to everything. Gorgeous beach and the vast ocean are steps away. Dining, nightlife, and shopping, including Las Olas, are all within leisurely walking distance. Great hot breakfast daily! Convenience of parking at a great low daily rate, exponentially lower than surrounding hotels/resorts, with in/out priviledges. Clean, comfortable rooms with all the necessary amenities and convenience of mini fridge and microwave. Friendly staff, especially the breakfast crew! While we did not use the pool (why would we when the beach/ocean are right there???), we observed other guests enjoying it daily and it looked clean and sparkling. BWOI is the place to stay at a reasonable cost and proximity to everything you'd want to experience in fabulous Fort Lauderdale! We will be going back again and again!

I would stay here again. It was within walking distance to eating establishments and the beach. I asked if it was safe to walk at night and the staff ensured me it was not a problem. The price was comfortable. The hotel was close to the cruise ship docking area, easy to get to.

I travel regularly to the Miami - Ft Lauderdale area for my "beach" getaway, retiring from the sub-par beaches of Myrtle Beach. This hotel is by far the best value for ocean side/front accommodations in the SOFLA area and an even better value when compared to the over commercialized Myrtle Beach, SC. The room views are not spectacular since the building is surrounded by high-rise condos, but the beach is adjacent to the parking lot. Night life and "The Strip" is just a walk away. Boating excursions are also within walking distance. This is convenient location if you just want to park and vacate and not break the bank. Hotel has good restaurant/lounge inside. Breakfast lounge is free and MORE than satisfying. Pool area is small but adequate. Who goes to SOFLA to spend their vacation by the pool when you've got blue waters anyway? Staff very friendly and provide personalized service. Bad side -- room views are nothing to write home about and parking is fee ($15day??) and hard to find if you try to park in the evenings. But, clean, safe, familiy AND adult friendly. Good value, great location.
