The pictures are not an adequate representation of the hotel.

This hotel was old, which wasn't our problem...the problem was it was not kept up. When we walked in there were cracks in the tile. The carpets were dirty and worn (badly need replacement). The room was crowded with furniture. The sink would not turn off without a lot of manipulation. The sinks did not drain. We found a much better hotel at the same price closer to the historical part of town. The pictures on the internet were misleading.

Hotel corridors were not well lighted. One elevator was broken. hall carpeting appears to have been in a flood. Room was clean. Bathroom was clean, though fixtures need work. have to giggle the nandle to get the toilet to stop running and at one point I could not get the water to fully stop running in the sink. Room had far too few electrical outlets. had to unplug the hotel alarm clock so I could plug in my laptop. FYI, I really do NOT consider myself to be a snot about hotels--so long as the room is clean, and the bathroom is clean I am generally happy.

The hotel was in a great location in Philadelphia. The entrance to the hoel was well-lit but as you moved down the hallways, it became a bit darker. The elevator needs a mjor upgrade but who cares about the elevator, right? It's a hotel. But, i should mention it's slow and rickety too! Anyways, the room was not bad outside of the leaky toilet. To keep the toilet from the relentless sound of it filling, we had to remove the top of the toilet to hook the chain every time we flushed. Not a complaint; just a little frustration. The host and the housekeeping ladies were really nice folks!

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. We were able to check in early which allowed us to park and get off the road. We had free parking for the day we arrived as well as the day we checked out. It was strategically located within walking distance to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Rodin Museum, Kelly Drive and Boat House Row. We did the Philly Sightseeing tour and the Rodin stop was 1 block from the hotel. This made transportation easy as well since the tickets for the tour were good for 24 hours. The breakfast was not included in the price of the room and we got the buffet. It was not worth the cost, which was very high with limited offerings, but they did have a menu for which individual items could be ordered. We were there mid week and were happy overall with the hotel, the location and our experience there. I see myself booking the same hotel next time we visit.
