April 2010 - I was so excited for our trip to New York and from the pictures, The Belvedere looked great. Considering hotel rates in NY, this seemed pretty reasonable. We had a room with two full beds. The room was very outdated and looked like a room in a motel, frankly. The bathroom was VERY small with no space to put toiletries, etc., just a standing sink. There was an air conditioner/heating unit that was very noisy but we had to run it at night. The paint/art/carpet was so dull and, again, dated. It takes FOREVER to get up/down the elevator because it fits about 5 people total! Not fun with luggage! I think at one point we waited for 15-20 minutes in line for the elevator. Pretty disappointed. HOWEVER, it is a 5-ish minute walk to Times Square and 10 minute walk to Broadway! Awesome location! There are some fun bars nearby as well.
