Booked for a get-away weekend. The hotel is old with small rooms but beautiful and well maintained. Thick walls eliminated any exterior noise. Comfortable bed with luxury linens. Bath supplies were high-end. Only complaint was that a check-in we were told that our request for a room with two-beds (which was one specific reason we picked this hotel) was not available. Only after I insisted that this was necessary, was a room with two-beds provided. Also prices in the restaurant/bar were extremely high.

Everything was fine for pre-holiday stay. Staff was friendly and helpful; Only problem which I didn't notice until checking my reciepts: the restaurant and bar bills incuded a 15% gratuity, but appeared like any other resaurant bill, with a line for tips as well. We ended up tipping 35%, way too much, expecially for cocktails sitting at the bar.

fabulous hotel very reasonable rates, beautiful rooms, extremely high and over priced buffett breakfast. (i let my daughter pay with out checking the individual cost for the breakfast buffett because she wanted to help me and we nearly fell over 4 persons $130. way to high. drinks at the bar were also to high but i understand where we were. but the food is unreasonable everything else was super.............(next time we go we will eat breakfast at the nearby deli. we realize that mant people can afford this luxury but to me its just not reasonable. it prevents many visitors to alter trips, cancel or seek other ways to feed there family. i just believe that service should not just end with clean rooms and big smiles.

First of all, you must know that if you book through an online service, instead of through the hotel itself, you are not guaranteed the room that you pay for. We booked a king suite online, and the hotel tried to give us a king executive room instead. My husband had to convince the manager to give us the room we had paid for online. Secondly, this is a disgusting hotel. The second night we were there, we discovered a business card in our bed that was not ours. Obviously, they had never changed the sheets between the last guest and us. All the manager said was, ""That's disgusting."" No kidding. The bathroom had dust bunnies on the walls, and the light switches were black with grease from other people's hands. We later found more trash that wasn't ours when we were leaving. The baseboards were actually rotting beneath the little paint which remained on them. The windows gave off such a strong breeze that we originally thought they were open. This also lead to hearing road noise all night long. The walls were very thin, and you could hear complete conversations from the room next door. The staff was generally apathetic, so don't expect 4 star treatment from any of them. The breakfast buffet was extremely overpriced: $70 for 2 people and average food. The only good thing I can say is that the room was large and the bed was comfortable. For my money, I will go to the New York Palace where you are treated like royalty, the rooms are clean and updated, and the upper floors are especially quiet.
