Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was large and obviously an "historic" place. Overall comfy room, but even on the 12th floor you're still going to get lots of street noise unfortunately. Bed was average for a hotel, but the pillows were not comfortable..all the pillows in the room were the same so we didn't have any other options already in the room. We got a pretty cheap rate due to being off-peak time of year so it was worth the premium you pay for a good location in a fancy hotel.

We arrived early but our room was not ready so we waited in the lobby until they texted us. We had a 2 bed superior room & it was really spacious & clean. The beds were very comfortable. We got 2 free bottles of water but the mini bar drinks were ridiculously expensive so we stayed out of the mini bar. The hotel is being renovated so the Park Ave. entrance is closed. We entered through the Lexington Ave. entrance. The Waldorf is a classy, old hotel. We felt safe & comfortable. The bars & restaurants in the hotel were very expensive so we ate outside of the hotel. It is very close to shops & the NYC subway.

When we arrived, the frontdesk clerk upgraded us to a King Suite at no charge. It was a wonderful suprise! The room was large and lovely. The bed was comfortable. The location was excellent. We could not have asked for more.

The hotel was in a good location to walk to different sites. Our only bad experience was when we were leaving. We wanted to take our luggage out ourselves. Before we knew it a bellman took them from us and put us in the taxi out front. This taxi ride of 15 min. cost us $72.00. We believe he started at 45!! When we took a cab into N.Y. from the airport, the cost was $26.50!! Something is wrong with this picture!
