03/08/2013Excellent deal when you consider the flight and the hotel. it was a business trip, so i was looking for clean and accommodating, with quiet. it fulfilled my expectations.

Elegant and stately hotel. The staff was exceptional and not the least bit pretentious or stuffy. The room was large (for New York) but a bit dated. They have renovated the lobby and it is spectacular. Have the Sunday brunch ... a bit pricey but decadent. Whole lobster tails, fresh shucked oysters, french crepes perfectly done, etc.

The Waldorf Astoria is still a wonderful place to stay. The hotel lobby was always full and ripe for people watching. The location was well within walking distance to most well known New York places and the subway was only a block away. The service was always performed with a smile and usually quite prompt. We stayed on the 6th floor and the one down side was a slow draining bath tub and sink.

I've been to NYC many times over the past 50 years, and the Waldorf Astoria is truly one of the finest hotels in the city, if not anywhere. If provides first class service to visitors, and the rooms are more spacious than most other NY hotel rooms. I look forward to returning there many times in the future.
