I stayed here in part because of the assurance of both wireless & Ethernet in my room. The Ethernet cable was pushed into a hole in the wall - but nothing for it to connect to. Just a hole. I was there over a weekend and no repair person was available. I had to use the wireless, which only allowed for one site to be open at a time and still it regularly crashed. Their tech support told me some required maintenance needed to be done and after that, it worked better for awhile. But the next 2 nights crashed often. Room was clean, very comfy bed and bedding, and the front desk staff were terrific; upbeat, helpful, responsive and to a person, quite courteous. There are dirty marks all over the narrow hallway walls, and the front lobby is tiny tiny tiny. Lots of traffic sounds outside my window into the wee hours of the morning. I could hear every pedestrian's conversation outside my closed window. I appreciated their quirky ambiance but it was not nearly as polished and upscale as the website made it seem. It was kinda shabby. The coffee pot was a nice touch but the outlet it was plugged into didn't work; had to use the already tiny nightstand.

I stayed for 3 days mid-week for business and this hotel was terrific. The location was very convenient, and it was nice to stay away from mid-town and Times Square for a change. In fact, it was a relief not to have a chaotic, large lobby with coffee shops and throngs of people to wade through to get to my room at the end of a long day. The hotel is 1 block from Whole Foods and the 2nd Ave subway stop. I dined in Soho and Little Italy - both easy walks. The room was small but very clean, the front desk staff (Anthony) was extremely helpful and friendly and overall it was a terrific value. I would return without hesitation -- it truly is a GEM of a hotel.

We read the reviews before choosing this hotel, which described what we wanted. As the other reviews stated, the beds are VERY comfortable and the entire staff is awesome!! The whirlpool bathtub was one of the highlights (even though we had to call and ask how to turn it on..ha ha ha). It is within walking distance of every bar and restaurant we wanted to visit whether it was in the Village, Chinatown or Wall Street (but we really like to walk). We also shopped at Whole Foods, which is right across the street. Don't park your car at the garage north of Houston on Mulberry Street because we think they ripped us off ($* for a 26-hour stay), and they do not accept credit cards. Oh yeah, I almost forgot........ the in-room robe is super soft and fun to wear..LOL!! Enjoy!
