The Bahia Cabana was a nice place and clean but the rooms need to be updated. We really didn't spend much time in the room so it didn't matter. It is centrally located so it was no more than a five minute walk anywhere. The beach is directly across the street (1 minute walk), the water taxi is right next door and the pool is in the main complex. The people were nice and the food was amazing!!!!!! Just be warry that not all rooms have a view, there are a few buildings and two were across the street. the main part of the resort has great views of the intercoastal waterway and some rooms have a view of the beach. The good thing about being across the street is that you didn't hear the noice of the band or the people partying. So if you don't want to party all night you might do better with the rooms across the street. Great Value - less than half the price of any hotel nearby! I highly reccommend Bahia Cabana!

Our room was a cute converted studio apartment; after the spectacular thunderstorms, the ants and the personable room cleaners battled and the ants won. Their 40th Anniversary Bash offered good food and a great view, primo mojitos, a grudgingly honored discount coupon, and expensive and sometimes cranky service. The rainstorm curtailed fabulous live music and precluded hot tub antics with some local wild women and preferred frequent guests who had been specially invited for the festivities. Another night, showing our water taxi ticket got us a 10% discount on Bahia Cabana's famous ribs. Wifi was intermittent and our electronic key was disabled a day early, necessitating a wet run back to the office. Parking was a crapshoot, but we always found a space nearby and the Valets were great. The beach is just across the street, and strange shopping and dining opportunities abound within walking distance. Check out their gift shop, then take a photo with the statues of the Blues Brothers hanging out near the bar and pool.

At first sight I was totally turned off by the look of the hotel outside and lobby and refused to stay. Once in I realized it wasn't so bad. The doors lead you to a nice restaurant, bar, pool and hot tub. It was almost paradise. The marina was a beautiful place to eat breakfast overlooking the water. The staff was wonderful down to the chef. I felt like I was in the tv show Cheers. When you walk in everyone knows your name and makes you feel comfortable. I will stay again!!

They called this a "resort" but it was nothing more than a very basic budget motel room. Renovated in 2007? It looks like it's from the 1980s. Not walking distance to anything except the beach, a couple of major hotels, and the on-property "party bar" which had a good crowd in the evening. No non-hotel restaurants or shopping nearby.

1st time staying there & we stayed for a week. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful and the bar was great with the marina view and live nightly bands. The beach was directly across the street and we were in walking distance of alot of activities we did. Loved it & plan to return!!
