The Embassy Suites was fine for the one night we stayed. We could walk to Navy Pier for the tall ship festival. The room was lacking a few things, shampoo, wash cloths, light bulb. When we asked for them at the front desk, the items were sent to our room, so no complaints. The air conditioner was stuck on high, so the room was cold. We decided to turn the unit off, rather than have someone work on it when we wanted to go to bed. There are not of lot of restaurant choices very close for families with young children.

The hotel was very nice. The room was very large and had 2 TVs. The breakfast was good (but crowded as the morning goes on). Very good location. The pool is very very small, sign said capcity was 65, there was less than 30 in the pool and you couldn't move (too much chlorine as well). Free drinks in the evening was very nice. The walls are very thin between rooms. The first 3 nights we could hear everything said in the next room. Our neighbors would come in at 11:30-midnight and talk and laugh for an hour or more. The maid accidentally through away a bag containing our snacks and other items but he hotel reimbursed us for the loss. If you are afraid of heights you may want to ask for a room on the lower floors. Parking was $* per night. Park at the lot kitty corner (to the south west) for $*/night (next to the NBC building).

Everything at the hotel was as promised with incredible views and comfort. The only unexpected was a charge for internet. The pool looked crowded but we weren't there for the pool--we were there to visit the museums of Chicago. we had great weather and were able to walk along the lakefront from the hotel to the Art Institute and the museum campus.

We had a wonderful experience at the Embassy Suites. The staff were very friendly at all times. We were not not familiar with restaurants in the area and the front desk were more than happy to suggest restaurants close by the hotel. When we asked about a certain restaurant and how to get there, not only did they give us directions, they gave us a 20% discount card--totally unexpected. The room was clean and spacious. At check-in I asked if we could have a room with a city view without a blocked view and we were given a room with a gorgeous view of the southside of Chicago and Lake Michigan as well! Breakfast was great with a cooked to order omeletes and biscuits and gravy and so much more. You will not be disapointed with their breakfast. If you want to eat quickly, I recommend eating before 9:00 AM if not, you may have to wait in line10-15 minutes. We ate a big breakfast and skipped lunch the two days at the hotel. The manager's reception in the afternoon was is great if you are a drinker, which we are not, but one night we had coffee before going out for dinner. One morning, I spilled coffee on the linens and the housekeeping staff and they took care of the problem and replaced the linens--no problem. The staff take action quickly. Excellent service all around. It was our anniversay and I wanted it to be special for my wife and Embassy Suites did not disappoint in the least. My wife loved the hotel, need I say more. T
