    If you are use to chain hotels, this hotel does not compare to their standards. I was moved into 3 different rooms because of the low quality of each room. The rooms that I saw looked nothing like the guestrooms/suites on the website. The water pressure is so minimal; it discourages baths, long showers, or use of a Jacuzzi if your room has one. All in All, this hotel is old, they are doing some renovations. I was told my current room was renovated but I can't see the upgrade. Parking is minimal. I had to pay $*/day to have parking. The staff tried to recover but I felt very hopeless after 3 moves. I am a traveling consultant and stay in hotels on a weekly basis. However, this was a pleasure trip and the quality of this hotel was not up to par.

    We've been staying at the Marseille Hotel for the past 4 years and have recommended it to business and family travelers. Last year (August, 2008), when we received our credit card statement, the Marseille Hotel added an unauthorized charge to our bill. When we investigated the charge, guest services told us we were erroneously charged a bar bill. The charge was eventually removed by the hotel. When we stayed at the hotel in August, 2009, there was once again, an additional charge on our credit card statement. When we called the hotel, management told us it was probably a food/beverage charge from the refrigerator in our suite. We informed them that we never took any items from the refrigerator (as a matter of fact, we brought our own beverages in a cooler). They said they'd look into it and get back to us. Well it is now 5-weeks later, and we have never heard back from management, even after leaving several messages. We did report them to our credit card company and because the hotel compromised our cards, our old cards were cancelled and new ones were issued. The hotel never removed the charges.

    This was my second stay at the Marseilles while at a business conference in Miami. Dont listen to the negative reviews, this is a great value if you are planning to stay in South Beach! The staff is awesome, and always willing to accommodate you in any way! I'll agree the hotel is older and has it's little "quirks", but the charm, beauty, and grace of this place make it well worth it!

    This was my second stay at the Marseilles while at a business conference in Miami. Dont listen to the negative reviews, this is a great value if you are planning to stay in South Beach! The staff is awesome, and always willing to accommodate you in any way! I'll agree the hotel is older and has it's little "quirks", but the charm, beauty, and grace of this place make it well worth it!
