I stayed at Doubletree in August of 2012 for two nights and my stay was enjoyable from start to finish. I was greeted by the Front Desk with a warm smile. The entire hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The Conceirge was very helpful with my questions. My room was on the upper floors of the hotel. I was very pleased with the accommodations. The room was clean and spotless. The outdoor pool came in handy since the weather was very hot and humid. The Doubletree is within walking distance to the ever popular Navy Pier and the Magnificent Mile. There was an onsite Restaurant however I chose to eat elsewhere. There were an abundance of restaurants close to the hotel. I will be staying at the Doubletree Chicago again. I highly recommend staying at this wonderful hotel.

The hotel was very pleasant. The location was very convenient, just a few blocks east of Michigan Ave. There were numerous restaurants in the area, and it would be convenient to shopping if you are interested in that. I had a good-sized corner room with a view to the south toward the Loop. The front desk staff, the concierge staff and the doorman were all friendly. I asked for a restaurant recommendation at the front desk and was told about a breakfast place and another place for dinner, both in the building. When I clarified that I would like someplace where I could watch the Monday Night Football game, The desk clerk gave me a coupon for a discount at a sports bar a block away. My only negative comment is that by the time I arrived in late afternoon the gift shop was out of Chicago papers. The Hotel provided USA Today and WSJ, but I had to find a newsstand to get the local paper. Overall, a very satisfactory hotel.

Place was overall nice but I've had better in Chi for similiar money. The AC unit was like a jet engine and the hotel had dehumidifiers everywhere including my room and my rug felt moist. Wifi charge $10 a day in room but free in lobby. Had free wifi for less room rates. Cabs were tough as it's on Ohio past Michigan so you lose most before they get there. I walked a block or tow to grab one. It's not a bad place to stay, and I guess I would again. Just not my first choice.
