The most positive remark I can make about this hotel is that it is located in a convenient spot. My room's temperature control was ineffective. I had to turn the air conditioner on (in mid-March) in order to cool the room to a moderate level. The hotel is about 1/2 block away from the commuter train which keeps things pretty loud. On top of that, each morning at about 4:30 am, heavy equipment begins operating and loud banging begins. It was impossible to get back to sleep. After two nights, I was looking forward to the 4 hour wait at Midway for my flight home. The concept of free wi-fi is appealing, however, the bandwidth was so small that wi-fi was pretty useless. I walked the two blocks to Panera to get an internet connection.

The hotel was very nice and the staff was very friendly. They even recommended a very nice place to eat delicious Chicago style pizza. The hotel was conviently close to everything we wanted to see. On our next trip to Chicago we plan to stay again.

This was my second recent stay here, and my experience was much the same. The front desk and bell staff are friendly and courteous, though they seemed hard-pressed by an influx of guests, some of whom they were making wait because their rooms were not yet ready. My room , which I got into after only a short wait, was clean but nothing fancy. The furniture had definitely seen better days and the window heating unit was noisy. I tried to take a shower and couldn't get any hot water, although the problem was resolved by evening. The usually slow elevators were made even slower by one of them being out of order. However, prices here are consistently cheaper than other downtown hotels, and the location, close to both bus and rail transportation, can't be beat.

The hotel was fair at best. Very old building, poor improvement quality. The staff was very nice. The reason I recommend this is because of the location...1/2 a block from Michigan Ave. I've seen better Motel 6's but it was the cheapest I could find which was all I needed.
