We enjoyed our stay. The staff was so friendly and ready to help and answer questions. The location was right in the middle of everything. The food at the Outrigger Waikiki was good and worth the money and was reasonable. The food at some of the other places was very high and it is a good ideal to find some of the familiar palces like Burger King etc. They are there close by, you just have to ask where they are. Eating at cheaper places in between is a good ideal. If you like Pizza, then eat at the Round Table. It is one block down east and to the left one half block. The Cheesecake Factory is west and right next door. Cheesburger in Paradise is 6 blocks east. The prices at the flea market are good---check them out. Don't buy anything when you first arrive because you may find it cheaper somewhere else. The international Market does have good prices also and is across the street from the Outrigger Waikiki. Would recommend the Outrigger Waikiki as a great hotel to stay at. Was greatly dissapointed in the Little Island Tour. It took half the time to get out of Traffic. Our driver said she was going to do the tour backwards because of the traffic. She only made two stops and flew by everything else. Was so dissapointed that I did not take any more tours. But did go to the Polynesian Center for the all day and show at night. It was great.

Tremendous value. My family and I (four of us) were very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Well situated on Waikiki Beach near shopping, restaurants, and right on the water. Many bigger name hotels are poorly located across the street from the beach, but not this one. Duke's restaurant was a real pleasure for breakfast and dinner. Gotta try the Hula Pie dessert! Every room has a beach view -- no need to upgrade to oceanfront unless you plan to spend a lot of time in your room. Nice sandy beach just yards from the pool, bar, restaurant, etc. We rented surfboards and took lessons from the vendor at the hotel. Nice concierge service arranged our luau dinner and our tour of the Big Island. Sure beats trying to arrange this yourself. Valet parking was $25/day, but unavoidable. There is no public parking alternative in Waikiki, to my knowledge. Most days we didn't even use our rental car, as our tour companies picked us up in front of the hotel for our excursions. You might consider skipping the rental car unless you absolutely need it. Lots to do within walking distance of hotel. It was nice to have the car for our outings to Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, Pearl Harbor, and the North Shore. However, there are day trips by tour companies to each of these for a reasonable price. We'll go to Hawaii, and we'll stay at the Outrigger on Waikiki Beach! I hope that your stay is as nice as ours. Signed - a happy tourist from Fort Myers, Florida.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Outrigger Waikiki! If we ever come back that would be the hotel that we would stay at again. The people who work there are very friendly and seem to enjoy their jobs. Our room was clean and they made it up every day and restocked everything. Our room had a large safe and a dorm-size refrigerator. The shower/toilet are separate from the vanity/changing room which was nice. There is a sliding door that separates the two areas which was nice for us traveling with our kids. The only thing we weren't impressed about were the thin walls....but that did make for some interesting late-night entertainment for us. Luckily our kids were asleep! The location was perfect...right on the beach so you don't have to cross the street to get there. And it's located right across the street from the International Market Place and of course and ABC Store. The tours we booked picked us up right around the corner at the Hyatt so it was just a quick walk for us to get there. If you like a clean, friendly hotel definately stay here!

This hotel is right on the beach and in the center of everything, which is good and bad. Take the elevator down and you're ready for beach and water fun; take the elevator down and your'e in a crunch of people. There was also some weird noise (the ice machine?) like someone passing gas that occurred all the time episodically. The housekeeping was distinctly mediocreat best--and one day they didn't even bother to come into my room. When they did actually come into the room they only made the bed-- nothing was dusted (the alarm clock was filthy with dust... how long does it take to get like that??) and don't track sand in because it's going to stay there; we got sand in the bathroom one day and it was there the next day too.
