Our experience at this hotel was delightful. The decor was lovely, the room was spacious and clean, and the staff was very pleasant. The large roof garden on the main buliding was very attractively done, and it was great to have a pretty outdoor area that was so physically removed from the street ambiance. This hotel is right in Little Tokyo, and the area looks a little seedy on first glance, but hosts a great variety of excellent sushi dives and hole-in-the-wall restaurants and shops if you feel a little adventurous. Of course there was no need to leave the hotel. The multiple restaurants and good room service menu were perfect for a romantic getaway. In particular, the Thousand Cranes restaurant on premises was truly first rate, with just exceptional food quality, presentation, and service. It is clearly set up to please the most discerning visiting Japanese businessmen, who know quality Japanese food, yet the prices were not astronomical. All in all a fabulous vacation for a better-than-fair price.

I didn't enjoy my stay at the Kyoto Grand. For one I had previusly stayed at this hotel but since they changed their name in December I wasen't aware that I was booking the same hotel. Second of all, parking is $24 a night and our phone didn't work so we couldn't even order room service.

We got there early 11am, The Rep at front desk didn't know how to look up our reservation and said she couldn't find my name in the system. She made me go to the business center to print out my reservation. Then she found it after 30 mins, There were no other front desk employees so there was a long line of angry grumpy customers waiting to check out. She Promised to have a room by 12pm, didn't happen, waited another two hours, gave us a basic room when we paid extra on our reservation for an upgrd room. Called front desk for a room changed and were told to wait another 2 hours for the correct room. Finally got our room at 4pm..We wasted a whole day because employees were not properly trained and there were no apology for all the lost time caused. The hallway towards the elevators to our room stinks, smelled like someone didn't flush after a #2 whenever we exit the elevators. Parking was horrible, it was really limited and it was additional $24 daily, The room did not come with free internet access even though it was an upgraded room. There are no pools in this hotel, fitness center did not include a bathroom to freshen up after your work out. The maid never clean our room when we displayed the housekeeping sign on the door. This hotel does not deserve to have any stars. I must say it was the worst hotel I ever stayed at in LA. We visit LA at least 5 times a year. This is our 1st and last stay at this Hotel. Dont waste your money. Seriously.

First of all I requested a non-smoking room, when I arrived to check in the room was not ready so I had to wait, then when I got into my room I realized it was a smoking room. The room reaked of smoke.
There was a huge dirty wet spot on the floor by the bed which I stepped in, not sure if it was spilled wine or blood, either way it was gross.
I would have requested another room, but I was running late for a business meeting already so I just had time to drop my bags change and get to my meeting. I arrived back at the hotel around 11pm so I just decided to stay with that room.
The beds were awful! Scratchy pillows, very hard bed and it was noisy. You can hear everything outside your door. It's like sleeping with your door wide open.
The bathrooms were not very nice. Very dated, not what you'd expect in a 3 star hotel. The bathroom faucets are gross and it's difficult to adjust the water temp.
I've stayed in Motel 6's that were nicer then this place. The room service prices were ridiculous especially for the quality of the food. I ordered the breakfast and not only did they not get my order right, you get better food at denny's and you don't pay $36 for it.
I would not recommend this hotel.
on a positive not the staff was friendly. The bartender in the front lobby lounge was good too.
Front desk was friendly. rooms were clean and provided good amenities. only downside is early closing for bar/restaurants.
