Staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village was somewhat disappointing. The property is very large and always busy. We stayed in an Ocean Front room in the Rainbow Tower. The rooms were a bit worn and the bathroom/kitchenette were in need of a remodel/upgrade. Resort staff were friendly enough but not always what you'd expect from a Hilton. Two positives - the Italian restaurant has a fabulous sunset dinner option, and the grounds are beautiful - definitely worth the walk.

  • The property is beautiful and within walking distance for shopping.

My daughter and I stayed at the hotel because it was the host hotel for a wedding we were attending. The property is very large and has lots of beautiful sites. The general gathering areas are very nice and clean. The wait staff encountered during my stay were pleasant but nothing outstanding. I was disapointed in my room. The size was nice for the money. The beds were very comfortable but the view was very disappointing. My room was advertised as an ocean view and what it ended up being was a very distance glimpse. There was no coffee maker in my room which was surprising since the room was advertised to include a coffee pot. I was in one of the tower rooms that seemed to be quite remote from the main hotel but this feeling may just be because the hotel was so large. Check out was very easy.

This Hilton is indeed a little village, with everything one might need on the grounds. It is located right on Waikiki, and consists of many 'towers,' pools, ponds, restaurants and shops. A very good place to go for pure relaxation, sun bathing, walking on the beach. Ask for the Rainbow Tower with beach view. The rooms are nothing special, but okay, and they each have a balcony with a table and chairs and a fantastic view. The restaurants are not very good, just okay. The Tropics bar is pleasant. The whole experience is sort of like Disneyland, very touristy, but a beautiful spot. Kids would love it. Note that they have a big fireworks display over the water every Friday night.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village! What a great location with an iconic view, easy access to the beach, plenty of great shopping and variety of restaraunts right on the property. We scored our best priced breakfast at the little NY Deli right there in the shopping area. My only complaints would be regarding the pool and pool area. The "rules" are not enforced as far as I could tell with several people smoking and endless babies and toddlers in the pool without diapers. Additionally they have "piped in" poolside music that is not turned off when the live music is being played at their beachside restaraunt which is really annoying, to me, to hear both. There is no umbrella service so scope out a shady area if you want to stay by the pool for any length of time without getting too hot. Beach and pool towels are liberally supplied and the pool bar waitress does her best to bring drinks but the bar is just steps away if you get imaptient. Internet access is termed "free" but the password will cost you $16 a day!

The only reason this hotel is rated 4 stars is because of the outside. Inside rooms and hotel very dirty and dusty. In the 6 days that we were there no one dusted the room. Also everything is outdated. Restroom was very very small. I would never rate this hotel at 4 stars. Our stay was great because we didnt stay much in the hotel. Also the pillows stinked and the bedsheets were dirty. Very gross. Nothing is free parking is outrageous 24 a day. Internet is not free. Breakfast is not free..
