    My husband and I just returned from a week-long stay at this resort and are wishing we were there right now. We were extremely impressed with the beauty of the overall resort and the gorgeous views from our room (and we didn't even upgrade to the more expensive towers). We enjoyed Tropics, the beach bar/grill right next to the beach. The blue Hawaii cocktails were delicious and we enjoyed the live entertainment while the sun was setting. My husband and I have gone on many vacations where the stores at the resort offered nothing more than cheap looking souveniers. The stores at this resort offered really unique and quality items--from edible food items to purses/beach bags to designer swim suits to fabulous jewelry. I had a lot of fun looking at all of the items that the stores in the village had to offer. I am usually looking forward to going home the day or two before my vacation ends, but we left the hotel in protest! We wished we would have had a few more days because the resort offered so much that we didn't have time to enjoy since this was our first visit to Hawaii. We are already hoping that we can return in the next couple of years. I have heard many of my friends/colleagues state that Oahu was their least favorite island, but we enjoyed everything about it--Diamond Head hike, Manoa Falls hike, Pearl Harbor USS Arizona and USS Missouri, Punchbowl Cemetery, snorkeling with the dolphins/sea turtles, Lanikai beach, Laniakea Beach with the big green sea turtles basking in the sun, the big waves/surfers on the North Shore, the shopping and people watching on Waikiki, etc. My only complaint was that our check-in was not as friendly as I anticipated. It was our honeymoon, and after a long flight from Chicago, we were not helped with our luggage. I had to go and ask for someone to help with our bags. We were more than willing to pay and tip for this service, but we were obviously struggling and it was a lengthy walk to our tower. I feel as though that type of service should be immediately offered to tired guests upon arrival. Otherwise, the service was friendly, the rooms were clean, and the grounds and amenities were gorgeous.

    We had a very nice visit and stay in Waikiki at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The location at the end of the beach was very cool for sunsets, views of Diamond head and for walking basically everywhere. The marina is right there, the "Beach Walk" is right there, food, activities, people watching all right there. My very minor complaint would be that, while at the pool, you can hear the live music coming from the beach front restaraunt and also the piped in pool music-very distracting when trying to relax or read a book. Also there are no umbrellas at the pool so if you want shade get there early-it's not like Mexican resorts where you can ask for an umbrella in the afternoon. The pool area beverage service is spotty and the pool bar will definitely be stocked before they make eye contact with you, having said that-the mojitos are worth the wait. There were also some construction barries to paths and noise coming from what looked like refurbishing of the balconies on the Tapa Tower - so - cheers to you people who get to enjoy that in the future. Our balcony was nice and clean with a lovely view and we had some dove visitors each eveing which was fun. There's millions of children. Millions. The 'diapers in the pool policy' does not appear to be enforced with any sort or regularity-swim diapers are supposed to be used but LOTS of babies and toddlers without any diaper let alone a swim diaper. There's no smoking allowed on the property which is nice. The property is lovely and well manicured, it feels and looks totally cared for and clean.

    The pool and fireworks show are spectauclar. The staff were helpful, location was awesome. Close to so many things, food, car, shopping. Bus or rental car very close. Food options great, we only had one issue and that was a funky odor from the sinks drain. I kept thinking my SO (significant other) was farting or having bowl movements in the bathroom all the time. We bought something and poured it down the drain. It masked the odor, but did not get rid of it.

    We had a very good stay at the hilton - it was a very good place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary! my wife and i had a good time!
