This hotel is very close to all the piers of Fisherman's warf, which is its most promising feature. I thought the bathroom was terribly small, and the prices in the Sheraton's restaurant were very high, but the room was sufficient size and fit my family of 4 just fine (we weren't in the room much, though).

  • Served its purpose.

Room was good; not bad, not great. Price was a little high for the quality of the room, but then again we were in San Francisco in a tourist area. Short walking distance to most things near the wharf. Good starting point if you want to rent a bike and ride across the GG bridge. No rooms really have any good views, only 3 floors to this building, which is a couple blocks inland and all of the surrounding buildings are the same height or taller. Internest only free in the lobby.

The short version of the review is this hotel has security issues and is a glorified hotel that does not live up to the expectations of a Sheraton hotel. I would recommend that you stay at the hilton or other hotels in the area. Long version: Security is an issue. Area is filled with homeless people and there is no security guard presence felt anywhere in the hotel. I placed my laptop on cafe table to save myself a seat while I bought a shuttle ticket to the airport. 3 minutes later when I turned around to go back to my seat laptop was gone. Person at table next to me said a man grabbed the laptop bag and walk straight out the door past the bellman. San Francisco is filled with people who are less fortunate as well as people who are always looking to swipe something and you would think a Sheraton hotel would have an armed security guard on staff. After laptop was stolen "head of security" advised me not to call 911 and file a police report when I got back home. I instead went to police station and the police said because the crime had occurred only seconds after I had left the table and because the person at the table had a description of the thief I should have called 911. There was also incident with other guests during my stay who reported to "head of security" that two men, one of which fit the description of man who took my laptop tried grabbing peoples bags as they stepped off the shuttle. Additionally, the first night I got to the hotel it was raining and when I got to my room even though the window was closed the rain seeped through and there was a cold draft. The TV also had reception problems ( unrelated to the rain). I called for assistance but the engineer did not arrive until the next day. Sleep Quality was also low because of all the noise from the street including car and foot traffic. Food in the cafe and the restaurant is overpriced. Internet cost $15 per electronic devise per night. Business center printing is overpriced. Wifi in hotel lobby is incredibly slow and the connection constantly breaks. The positive aspect of my visit was the staff is reasonably friendly. The location is in between pier 45 and 39, but the area itself has a lot more homeless people than the area surrounding the Argonaut. I would not stay here again because I often travel alone and check in after dark and am always caring a laptop. I feel like the individual who took my laptop targets people like me and I am just thankful that I was not hurt in the process or I was not followed to my room. My laptop itself was worth $1000 and I had books and other possessions worth another $100. Because of the theft I missed my shuttle and the manager was nice enough to offer me a town car to the airport. Unfortunately a $60 fee for a ride to the airport will not compensate me for my lost laptop nor will it resolve the security issues at this hotel. After I left I have not received one phone call apologizing for the incident or any indication that the hotel acknowledges it responsibility in this and other similar incidences.
