    Visited 15 years ago for our honeymoon, 5 years ago for our 10th anniversary, last year with our 3 year old and are planning to return once again this winter. Very relaxed atmosphere. True Hawaiian feel. Our son loved the buffet breakfast at the Shorebird every morning and the various activities scheduled each day. Lei making, uke lessons, hula dancing, hawaiian name translation. Rented a car and went to SeaLife Park,North Shore, snorkelling in Hanauma Bay. Excellent shopping at AlaMoana....Loved Beachwalk, Ruth'sChris Steakhouse and Cheesecake factory(gets pretty busy with long waits but great takeout menu if you don't want to wait) Went to aquarium and Diamond Head. Hotel staff friendly and courteous. Super clean inside and out. Great location and right on the beach....stayed at the Hyatt and HiltonHawaiian and neither one as hospitable as the OutriggerReef!

    Outrigger Reef on the beach was a great hotel. It had been newly remodeled and is definatly right on the beach. We walked about fifty steps from the hotel room door to the sand of the beach, and the hotel restuarant was on the beach which was very convenient. The staff was very helpful and nice. If you are planning on having a nice view of the beach from your room, I would suggest paying a little more. Our hotel was on the second floor and the patio faced the side of another hotel, little view from our room.We visted from 8/05/09 to 8/11/09 and there was construction across the street for the new Trump Tower which caused some traffic.

    We just got back 7/14/09. We can't wait to go back. We plan on staying at the Outrigger Reef the next time we go to Waikki. Clean and newly remodeled. The beach is just right at you hotel. The view of Diamond Head at night with the coast line of hotels is just breath taking. The Bell Men, the front desk and the maids are all so nice. Parking is 25 dollars a day which we found very handy for there is no parking. The public parking lot across the street is 16 dollars a day with no valet included. We found the valet to be quite helpful and well worth the money. When renting a car get the GPS unit you can rent it for 10 dollars a day you will need it. We had to go back to the airport to get it at the car rental place; They were great too. The resturants in the hotel were great with nice prices. The songbird has a great buffet breakfast and they pass out 50% off coupons. rooms have iron & board and blow dryer an the beds are so comfortable. really nice place. Don't forget your suit, sun screen and have a great time we did.

    This was our second time at the Reef, the first was 10 years ago. The room renovation was nice and the beds were very comfortable. We traveled with two young children and stayed in a suite. It was very spacious, bigger than standard Embassy Suites suites. All services were good, the front desk was very helpful when we checked in. She allowed us to look at two different rooms and choose which would be best for our family. The pool is great and we could always find a place to sit any time of the day. Appetizers at the pool restaurant are especially good. We had free breakfast at the Shore Bird, the view is a great way to start a day, the food was fine -- typical breakfast buffet. I wouldn't have paid for breakfast each morning. Overall we are happy and would stay here again.
