Hotel was very clean and nice, has been recently renovated and it shows. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Our room was the cheapest option available on line and it's all we wanted. It had a very comfortable king size bed,couch, writing desk and flat screen TV. Also had hair dryer and make-up light. Shower had twice the volume of myhome condo. Our room was not beach front, but had terrace overlooking outdoor pool with three large whirlpools.Only ate at Shorebird restaurant, but it was very good with moderate prices.Only negative was that the walls were thin with noise traveling between rooms. Teanagers checked in for the last three days and were very loud. Ice and drink machines were in a closet in the center of the hallway and were noisy. Do not book a room in the center of the hallway or you'll be woke up at night. The hotel has Waikiki beach front at rear of hotel with a direct view of Diamondhead. TIP--Ride the bus to the favorite spots and save the money on tours. Cost is only $* with one transfer to anywhere on the island and you can stay as long as you want. ALOHA!!!!!

My husband works for the airline industry and so we get to fly free....but on a seat availability basis which means you may or may not get on the flight. What I love about all the Outrigger is they are very flexible not to mention we get airline discount. I recently book our hotel at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach in Waikiki...the flight to Honolulu end up to be full so we diverted to the Big Island. I cancelled our hotel in Waikiki on the day that we're supposed to check in and book the Outrigger in Kona. Everything went smoothly. My reservation was transferred without any hassles.....on the same day! If that was with another hotel they would have charged me already. Definitely will stick with all Outrigger on future vacations.

We stayed for a week at Outrigger Reef on the beach. The hotel was recently updated throughout and it showed. The pre-paid room that we got was at a lowest class, giving us the option of level 2 or level 3 room - and upgrade to a higher room would have more than doubled the nightly rate. The staff was helpful in letting us inspect the two room options before making the final selection. The location is convenient, at one end of the Waikiki beach, with easy access to the shops and transportation. They have a small beach behind the hotel, but the sand is a bit coarse.
