We truly loved this hotel. It has just been remodeled and looks fantastic. Although the pool was closed, we had access to the wonderful pool at the Embassy Suites. It had a wonderful area just for our kids. It was a great hotel and we had a wonderful time staying there.

From the valet, to the bell hop, to the front desk, everyone was friendly and helpful. The were always willing to help. The hotel itself was great, right on the beach, can't be better than that. They also gave free vouchers, due to renovations. The renovations were not a problem, Hawaii is too beautiful to miss by staying at the hotel the whole time!

We just returned from Hawaii on Oct. 28th, and we were completely satisfied with the Outrigger Reef Hotel. The service was great there. At the check in counter, we were greeted with cool, fragranced washcloths to freshen up. Then we were informed that our room was being upgraded for free. The room we were in had recently been remodeled and it was VERY NICE AND CLEAN. This hotel is right on the beach; you walk out the back of the hotel and there is the sand and ocean. No crossing the street to get to the beach like there is with other hotels. At the current time, the pool is under construction, but with the ocean so close, not having a pool isn't a problem. There is also an activity desk right in the hotel that will help you schedule your tours, shuttles, etc. We didn't rent a car as we used the buses and tours to get around which worked out well. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurants as we preferred to get out and explore, but there is a Starbucks in the lobby. We ate breakfast there most days. Bottom line: we were very happy with our hotel choice. It has a nice atmosphere and it is comfortable and clean with an upscale feel to it. I picked this hotel after reading the reviews on a online travel agency, and both my husband and myself were very happy with the choice.

My husband and I stayed here 2 years ago when the renovations were just starting. It's taken them a long time, but it's well worth it. We loved it so much the first time, we decided to stay here again. The rooms have been renovated and are so much bigger and the decor is fabulous. We paid for the cheapest room and upon arrival were upgraded to an Ocean View room on the 11th floor. We were told we were the first people to stay on that floor since the renovation..... such a beautiful view and room. The hotel staf are simply the best. The staff give you tips on how to get around Waikiki and Island easily. They are still in renovation mode, but you can't hear a thing from your room. As soon as your patio door is shut, so is all the noise of the ongoing construction. This is not to say that you can't have your door open, but to have complete silence the patio doors are great. The beds are so comfortable I wanted to bring it home. The bathrooms are massive and the cosets are big. The only downfall of the hotel right now is that the pool isn't open yet. We knew that before booking and when you have Ocean in front of your hotel there really is no need for a pool. If you do want a pool just go to the neighbouring hotels and swim there. This hotel went from an 8 to a 10 and we will stay there every time we come to Waikiki.

The hotel staff was exceptional.....from the moment of checking in, to housekeeping, restaurant personnel, etc. The room was spotless and so made us feel we were in a Hawaiian oasis. The view from our balcony looking out to the beach & ocean, Diamond Head to the left and the most beautiful sunsets to the right were breathtaking. We had other family members also staying in 2 other rooms at this hotel and are equally satisfied. Far enough & yet close enough to stroll through downtown Waikiki streets in the evenings. Will definately return.
