That was our first time to Puerto Vallarta and we had a blast. We deliberately did not buy 'All Inclusive" to be able to enjoy local culture and cusine. Overall hotel is good, not a five star but solid. Some small irritations such as playing loudly a really weird sleepy music in a combined spa and gym - may be O.K. for massage , but etremely annoying if you are trying to get a good workout. Swimming pool is great, especiallly for kids. Great choice of restaurants, but on the expensive side. We often had dinner in town, which is about 20 min by bus ( $ * per per person). The beach is good and swimmable, but you can't walk or run far. It's not an open endless strip like in Nuevo Vallarta or Bucerias. Also, there was almost no activities or events in the hotel. So, if you are there just to relax - great. If you'd like to be entartained - go to Cancun. They have packed agendas there. We went on a few trips to filll the void - jungles, snorkeling, tequila factory, etc. All of them were very well organized and we had great time.

Beautiful location right on the beach with clean comfortable rooms. The hotel actually was so nice it was difficult to leave. A short walk to the shopping district and plenty of activities for the discerning traveler. Employees were helpful and considerate. The hotel also serves tasty and potent Margaritas on the beach. There is also a collection of shops in the hotel lobby that offer clothing and various necessities in a lovely atmosphere. Make sure you zip line at Canopy River!!!Cant wait to return. There was nothing not to like!

We found the Fiesta Americana to be an awesome hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Immaculate clean and very good food and drinks. Fiesta Club level is highly recommended - we did that and would do again as well. Will definitely plan to go back.
