So I returned, Jan 2-6, 2012 and once again it was par excellence. I was at my home away from home. I travel to Puerto Vallarta 3-5 times a year and my favorite place is Casa Velas. The food at Emiliano Restaurant and Private beach Club incredible, the accomodations fantastic and the service and amenities just out of this world. This is a place where Everyone is SPECIAL and all are treated like Royalty....You become a part of a family, a pampering home away from home place you wish to return to and share with everyone you know. This is the place, the ultimate experience, spa, golf, food, drinks, service, atmosphere, ambiance...Simply the Best of the Best!!! There is nothing more you could desire...Once you go here you will return over and over and over...

Casa Velas is a great place for a short retreat of relaxation. The food in the restaurant is good, however, dont be in a hurry. They are slower than even typical Mexican time! It is not unusual for a meal to take 2 hours, even breakfast. The service was impeccable everywhere in the hotel escpecially the valet, the pool bar, room service the beach club...I will say the housekeeping service left room for improvement. There was no beach bag or robes and they had to be requested. They did not clean at typical times. The rooms are a bit old, but no worse than most mexico properties to which I have been. Becasue it is outdated the Grand Class Suite with Jacuzzi and plunge pool was set up unusual. They should re-work the floor plan...no need for a kitchen and the bath room is large but laid out silly. All said- We will definitely go back to Casa Velas.

For discriminating couples looking for a quiet get-a-way with great food and marvelous hospitality, Casa Velas is a great choice. This all inclusive, adults only boutique hotel will be a destination for us for future winter escapes. Though it is not beach front, the hotel provides shuttle service to their private beach club just a mile or so away. Dininig priviledges for guests include all four properties in the Velas Vallarta group. We enjoyed the sushi and tempura at the beach club and had one lunch at the Velas Vallarta but considered our menus at the Casa Velas to be far and away the best. No buffets, the menus offered a wide selection of wonderfully prepared and presented dishes. Wines were well selected and bars were stocked with premium liquors. Service is impeccable.

We were not sure what to expect in Puerto Vallarta, but this hotel made us want to go back! The rooms were spacious and clean with great air conditioning ;it was very hot and humid. The staff were very friendly, professional, and spoke English. There was only one restaurant on the premises, and 24-hour room service. The food in the restaurant was delicious, not one complaint. Everyone did their best to make us happy there. We could take a 5 minute shuttle ride to the beach, and the pool at the beach club was absolutely beautiful! This hotel is perfect for romance, rest and relaxation. They deliver cold bottles of water wherever you go, and room service is extremely efficient. We did not play golf, but the course was beautiful and well-kept. This hotel is definitely like paradise, with pristine blue pools, lots of comfortable seating and cabanas, and beautiful trees and flowers. We loved it!
