My husband and I used the Cancun location of Hard Rock and was very disappointed. The room was not clean from dirty covers, hair on the sinks and some black stuff all over the toilet. We requested it to be cleaned and no one would come clean the room. Forget about sleeping as the noise outside your room seems like it is in your room. Breakfast room service starts at 6 so be prepared to be woken up due to the tile floors and the cart making the thumping noise all the way down the hall. In order to sleep open the sliding doors if you are pool side to drown out the hall noises. We even saw the food staff at breakfast not remove all the dirty silverware before they set the table for another guest. The pool is nice if you can get a chair. If you want a chair you must go down at 6 am and reserve a chair. The hotel doesn't have enough chairs or umbrellas. No umbrellas on the beach and those chairs fill up just as fast as the pool chairs. They have shows and specials but there are not way for you to know about them unless you really stop and search it out. Not easy to find. We did not learn dance floor until the day we were leaving. They don't like to advertise the shows.

Our first experience with Mexico and it will not be our last. The weather was nice, the people were polite and helpful. The hotel was well maintained. The food was lukewarm at the hotel but a wide varitey. The entertainment decent but I would not have paid to see these acts. We had a very relaxing time with a beautiful room and view.

The hotel is so small compare to the others. The food is salty. The service is bad. They seems to give you credits but you have to pay for service fee 11 % and if you ask for upgrade, they hardly give u one. Their service is not good either. never come back again. Compare to my experience in Punta Cana Majestic. This one is no way to compare. People shout in the hallway at 4 AM you can hear it clearly. Really bad

We traveled to Cancun and stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel Cancun (HRHC) from October 6 to October 13, 2012 as part of a group of 29 to attend my son’s wedding. We were very pleased from the moment we arrived with our stay there….from the hotel, to the room, to the restaurants, bar, and spa, to the pool and beach, and to EVERY staff person we encountered…each was great!! We stayed on the 12th floor with an ocean view. The room was very nice and the view was awesome. With a party as large as ours, however, some people stayed in lower rooms with side views of the ocean, or rear views of the lagoon but no one complained about their view and each had something nice to say about it. I do think the lowest we had anyone staying was on the 6th floor so can’t speak about the lower floors. Our room had a king-size bed, large flat screen TV, and a Jacuzzi spa. The bathroom with stool and shower were separate as well as a separate double sink area. The room was stocked with a FULL bar (vodka, gin, whiskey, tequila) and a refrigerator filled with soda, beer, and water. The room was also stocked with lovely hair and body products. Maid service occurred every day for us and we also had a turn-down service most nights. A nice feature provided daily by the HRHC was a schedule left in the room on the previous night for the next day. This included entertainment and activities schedule, announcements, and restaurant hours (and whether they were closed or not on a particular night). This really was very useful. We had an opportunity to eat at each of the restaurants and felt that all were excellent. We ate dinner one evening and breakfast every morning at The Market which was the buffet restaurant. They seemed to have a nice variety of food and it all seemed very fresh and tasty. We ate one dinner and one lunch at Frida, the Mexican restaurant. It was a small restaurant so I would imagine at busy times the wait might be lengthy but we didn’t find that to be the case the week we were there in any of the restaurants. Both meals we had at Frida were pretty standard menu items at a Mexican restaurant but were good and plentiful. The highlight at dinner at Frida was the dessert we had which was bananas flambé. It was delicious and was prepared table-side. The Brazilian steakhouse, Ipanema, was very good and a fun experience. It’s fare was pretty heavy weighted toward meat items but they served an excellent Caesar salad and veggies along with the assortment of meat choices. Our wedding dinner was served at Ciao which is the Italian restaurant at the resort. We were served a multi-course steak dinner that was outstanding. To top it off, our dessert was tiramisu. We didn’t have another opportunity to eat at Ciao although we really would have liked to…we ran out of dinners!! Finally, we ate two dinners at Zen, the Japanese restaurant. One night we sat at the hibachi grill which was very entertaining and the other night we ordered from the menu. Both nights the food served was very flavorful. The selection on the sushi menu seemed to offer quite a variety (although I’m a bit of a rookie as far as sushi) and the servings were very generous. We cannot say enough about the restaurant staff at all of the Hard Rock Hotel’s restaurants. They were very friendly, but professional and efficient. Any requests were accommodated immediately and we were never rushed to finish and leave. The staff all should be commended but we give a tip of our hat to Danny in The Market as he was our server for most breakfasts and made our morning start special!! There are bars at either end of the swimming pool and we spent our pool bar time at the north pool where Felixe and Manny were our bartenders. Carolina and Amelia were our servers for the week. Felixe and Manny worked very hard to fill the variety of orders they received from our group and always with smiles. My observation was that they very good at their jobs. Carolina and Amelia were the most efficient and helpful servers. They always had a smile for us and made many trips back and forth to our side of the pool to take orders and serve their guests. Kudos to all of them!! The lobby bar is a very nice place to sit and have a drink. It is also an area where there are pool tables and depending on the weather they may have the daily activities held there. One night they had a mariachi band, another they had karaoke, and another night they had live music in the lobby bar. The bartenders and servers in this bar were fantastic and made sure they knew what you need and anticipated your requests. Thanks to them for making several evenings in the lobby bar very enjoyable!! As we spent a good bit of time poolside, we had many opportunities to observe and interact with the activities staff. They are all very energetic and enthusiastic young men and it is obvious that they enjoy their work. From stretching exercises, to water aerobics, to volleyball, to crazy games and more, these young men kept us entertained every day. A special shout-out to Kevin and Ricardo who were the staff we seemed to have the most interactions. Everyone loved them!! The wedding was on the beach and was well handled by the on-site wedding planner. I think my son and daughter-in-law were very pleased with all the arrangements and how everything turned out. Because our visit to the HRHC included a wedding, reception, and dinner for 29 guests, we may have taken advantage of the concierge staff more than we would have normally. Without a doubt, things would not have happened as nicely as they did without the help of Adela, Jacob, and Juan Jose. Many in our group took advantage of the services that the Spa had to offer. I personally had my hair shampooed and styled by Karen on the day of the wedding. She was very pleasant and professional. She gave me some very good advice regarding the care of my hair that I have never been told before. I really appreciated being given the information. The parts of the spa that I saw were very nice. The information we were given upon check-in seemed to hold true throughout the week. The level of your resort credit is based on length of stay. We were at the $1,500 level credit and so the information I am providing is based on that level. It is stated that you will be charged an 11% USER FEE for any parts of your resort credit you spend. We were limited to $300 of our credit at the spa for services (others with lesser credit amount were limited to $100 and $150 in the spa). For everything else there was not a limited amount although there were stipulations. For example, you can spend as much of your credit as you want in the jewelry stores applying no more than $100 per item (the cheapest item I saw was $165). In the in-house souvenir shop, there are only two items that you can purchase using your resort credit: a tequila box set and a box of cigars ($100 each). You can spend as much of your credit as you want on tours they offer, upgraded wines (might be $90 on menu but $9.90 charged to your account), golf, wine tasting, tequila tasting, and romantic dinner. Just as a warning, you can spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to use the credit within the limits of the program. The week that we were there was some final work being done throughout the resort in preparing for the grand opening. It did not bother us and for that we were grateful. It is a lovely resort with a true Hard Rock theme and lots of fun memorabilia throughout. We were very pleased with our visit and would highly recommend it to others.
