My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks at the Intercontinental Presidente. It was our second time here. This was our 7th visit to PV and we have tried different places and fell in love with the south shore. The Presidente is ideally situated on possibly the most beautiful beach in PV, the playa Gemelas. Several of the hotel staff members remembered us from last year's stay. They were all very helpfuland friendly. The room was great--all balconies overlook the ocean. The beds were comfortable and we slept wonderfully every night to the sound of the surf. Having been there before, we decided to negotiate a 2 week deal for their breakfast buffet which sadly is not offerred by travelocity. We either ate dinner at the hotel (2 restaurants and a poolside limited menu) or would take a 50 cent bus ride 15 minutes into PV and enjoy one of the many restaurants there. We had a great time and hope to return next year.

This hotel is actually in a unique spot. It is semi secluded and definitely away from the hustle and bustle of the marina or downtown. If you are adventurous, you can catch a (crazy old school) bus that comes right in front of the hotel very cheap. Taxis come by the area no problem. There are several other hotels, condos and resorts next door and all lining the street on the way to The Presidente. Our room was ocean front and you could hear the waves gently crashing into the shore all night it was so peaceful and you can smell the ocean spray. The view is to die for. Service at the pool was great. Pool faces ocean, very picturesque. Cons: Our room was not ready when we arrived. We had to wait for 2-3 hours for them to get it ready!! The hotel restaurant is not that good and prices should be cheaper in Mexico. The place did not feel well staffed and The bar was closed half of the time. Room sofa was dingy and stained but room was overall clean and large. 20 minutes away from most things in Puerto Vallarta technically you are actually in Mismaloya.

This hotel is not only quiet but very clean and spacious. The room has excellent view of the beach and the pool. There isn't anything the staff not willing to do whenever you call. The reception desk is the most accommodating people with a cheerful smile whenever you see them. I don't think we ever had such great welcome from any hotel but Presidente Intercontinental service makes us want to go back again soon! We are definitely bringing lots of friends with us to stay at this hotel next time we come back. And we are looking forward to see all the staff again.

We needed a place for 2 nights and chose the ICP. Room was comfortable with a nice view, but was badly in need of some maintenance. Shower did not drain well, and gaps allowed you to see into the ceiling. Staff was great and the poolside food was great! Nice beach area.

The front desk didn't have any interest in dealing with it. Thankfully, none of our things were missing. Also, we were charged resort fees and other hotel fees that really added up. It is a nice clean property, just not a good experience.
