A beautiful, comfortable retreat that's quiet if you want it to be, energetic if you want it to be (head down to the pool area or to Duke's Beachfront Bar & Grill located on property), and within easy striking distance of Lahaina. There's a grocery store right across the street so you can stock up on food if you don't want the hassle of finding a parking spot in Lahaina. Beds are soft and cozy, rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, view from the balcony is great, and the grounds are beautiful and well-kept.

The resort is very nice. The staff was great. The "Spa" is not completed and does not have an estimated date of completion or a location that it will be built yet.... There is a concrete plant across the street from the resort that starts up at 5:00 am. If you like to sleep with your windows open (to get that amazing Hawaiian sea air) you will be rudely awakened.

Loved this place. I agree there were a lot of kids but what do you expect when you have spacious condos. We had an ocean view and I will admit I could only see the ocean if I sat on the balcony once I got over that I loved it. One Warning: if you are allergic to feathers or down - all the living room furniture had feathers/down in it. That is a first for me. I usually worry about the bedding which was hypoallergenic but not the furniture.

Didn't read the reviews for this hotel too in-depth, so the fact that this hotel has laundry & full kitchen in the room was a nice surprise. Didn't think we'd use either, but both ended up coming in handy. Room was not quite (mount view = high way view) when the doors were open, but when closed there were no issues. Only issue were some unfortunate attitudes found in the hotel staff (specifically clerks at the check-in desk - relax ladies, you're working in paradise!). I've worked as a clerk at a time share resort in my early life and understand the stressed caused by irate guests, but customer service is your profession - be a professional. For the most part however, everyone was very friendly. Especially housekeeping & the bell staff! Additional point off for staff as we were due to receive a gift basket from a family member and it ended up being quite a fiasco to resolve as there were some core communication issues. Mainly that when the original call was made to order the basket, the family member was not alerted that the staff does not have access to the room once the guest is checked in. This piece of information - it was reported would have prevented a lot of the problems. That said, the staff did what they could to make it up to everyone which was very kind. All in all, this was a great place to stay. Dining options are very limited (especially if you're a healthy eater), but this is not unusual. Despite some attitude from a few sour apples, I would recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat! Especially families with kids.

Just got back from a week at Honua Kai Resort in Maui, it was an outstanding experience. I highly recommend this resort, it was clean, the staff was wonderful and the you can't beat the location. Having a full kitchen really stretched our budget and was great on the days where we were tired and didn't want to go out. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
