Hotel staff very friendly - was impressed that I had a message waiting for me before I went to the room from the lady that checked me in to make sure that I was completly satisfied of the room. Was only on a over night business stay - room was very contemporary style not much of a "wow" factor however was clean and I was satisfied and would recommend and stay at this hotel again.

  • Exceeded expectations! Thank you!

The location is very near LAX and less than 3 miles to beaches, Marina del Rey, and Loyola Marymount University. Market and bowling alley right next door. Also Coffee bean, a sushi cafe. Hotel has quaint bar with bar food but closes too early and a bit chilly in winter since it is open air and staff is reluctant to turn on gas heaters. Martini with house vodka was $10. Heated outdoor pool. Room was clean. Spartan, hip post-modern decor but had curtain covering wall, which seemed odd. We had corner room with windows facing airport on one side and distant ocean view to the other. Windows were a bit small so rooms with one window might feel claustrophobic. Right on two busy blvds and closed windows kept out the noise but would recommend upper floor. We were on 7th. Bed low to floor, though comfortable. No dining table or microwave (though there is one in a common area on another floor). Refrigerator. One lounge chair and a cushion bench. No dresser. Only one suitcase stand. Compact Keurig coffee maker. Bathroom very clean but shower could have had better water pressure. Hotel only supplied one coffee pouch and ONE coffee cup each day! Hotel charges $11 for continental breakfast, which should be complimentary. Charges $20 a day for parking, which is a rip, though you can get away with parking on the street near the bowling alley. Blue bus line right out front can go down to Marina del Rey if you don't have a car. Free shuttle to and from airport. Lobby was cool and staff was helpful and friendly. Hotel has a gym.

This is a Motel-6 upgrade hotel, not a 3 or 3.5 star hotel; a Holiday Inn Express is better than this. If you want a 3.5 or 4-star hotel, stay at Embassy Suites, Hilton, Hyatt or such. Yes, the staff is friendly, but the rooms are mostly extra-large twin beds. Halls are painted with dark paint. Some rooms do not have a desk, i.e. those with twin beds. Beds are soft, like a sponge.

  • Great edgy look. Excellent staff! Great location.
