    This is a large hotel from a different era: much dark paneling, brass fixtures, chandeliers, mirrors, a very large cuckoo clock, well-trained and friendly staff, the near-silence of a club. The buffet breakfast is very good and costs even a little less than the fare at the famous--if less refined--Bijou coffee shop, but the menu does not change from day to day. The Benson may not survive much longer. There are small signs of decay: a crack in a sink bowl, a window blind that should be replaced, worn-out seat cushions in the gym.... My wife and I recommend getting the experience of a stay while one still can.

    This hotel may be older, but it is absolutely beautiful. I think it was in a perfect location for our needs. The staff was extremely helpful. The lobby is beyond stunning. Our room was very nice and comfortable and we had a great view. The bar food was very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay at this hotel again.
