An excellent experience. Loved our room....it was so different and so cozy...made our trip to San Diego that much better. Entire staff was very pleasant and helpful. Would return for a visit and stay just because...wouldn't need any reason to be there. Know we will return soon.

We needed a well priced, comfortable hotel in the right place, and the Gaslamp Plaza Suites fit the bill. We were only there for one night, but we were very pleased. Our room was a small suite which definitely looks like the small office it used to be. Well decorated and updated and very comfortable, if not huge. The bath/shower probably needs the next round of updates, but it was clean and got us clean too! The location, right smack in the middle of the Gaslamp Quarter was ideal. We had great bars and restaurants to choose from and we were able to walk to all our destinations.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend getaway. The suite was beautifully decorated and well appointed. We had everything we need - fridge, microwave, glasses, flatscreen, desk, nice bed, and large windows overlooking the neighborhood. The building is interesting and lovely. Though the breakfast is limited, it served its purpose and the rooftop deck offered great views of the area. The repairmen fixed our AC right away & offered suggestions for local restaurants when asked. The front desk staff were quite helpful. All of them were great. We certainly remember Merry; she is warm, energetic & informative. The trolly stop is just 2 blocks away & we found the public transportation system to be easy and cheap. Buy a multi-day pass and you can get everywhere; we did this since parking is very expensive. Coronado, La Jolla, Old Town & the zoo were great. We enjoyed La Fiesta for Mexican food in the Gaslamp. There are lots of homeless in the area, but they were harmless, polite, actually. San Diego is a lovely town with lots to do. Have fun!

This is a great hotel for the money. The rooms are big, clean and comfortable. The hotel is right in the middle of the Gas Lamp district with tons of restaurants and clubs. You can sit in your room & look out the window & watch the action, or go down & sit at a patio of one of the restaurants and watch the parade. Everyone at this hotel is friendly and all seem happy. Everything was top notch but of course the continental breakfast is just as they all are -- nothing fancy but fills you up. I cannot say enough about this place. I have been there 4 times and never had a bad experience.
