    We were happy to discover upon arrival that our "garden view" room had a pleasant partial view of the ocean. The rooms were clean and there was plenty of room for us. Coffee pots, mini fridges, and a safe were all things we made good use of. The maids had the room clean early and were very quick, often we would leave the room for just a half hour to return to a serviced room. The hotel is located right on the beach with a great pool area that always had a few empty lounge chairs available. The resort is just 10 minutes from Lahaina which made for a quick trip to dine out or shop. We also found that the activity desk located in the lobby was helpful in planning out what and when to do things. All of the activities we enjoyed were recommended by the attendant at the desk. The only downside to the resort was the parking fee of $10 a day.

    Review submitted on 8/6/2011. If you want to visit Maui and use the swimming pool, you DO NOT want to stay here. I have seen bigger pools in someone's backyard and it was freezing cold. Middle of the day and no one was using it. Also so small that there were never any lounges to use. Management said we are an older resort and cannot expand pool facilities. I have seen pools at neighboring resorts and they have huge pool area with waterfalls and slides and hundreds of lounges. Overall resort experience was fair with very nice clean rooms and good ocean views, however housekeeping would forget a few things like coffee cups and washcloths. It seems they pride themselves on weddings and tennis facilities, and not on what people want most in a Hawaii resort vacation. I wish I could give this review to other travel sites because I really want to get it out there.

    I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay with all the accomodations that my family and I had. The wedding of my daughter was a very memorable one and the staff made sure we went away with that feeling. Our wedding guests who stayed within the grounds as well were pleased as well. We are definitely going back to experience more of what the island has to offer with the help of our stay at the Royal Lahaina. Except for a refrigerator issue, the rooms were impecable and well maintained. The restaurant meals were memorable as well , especially the roasted bell pepper soup. Enjoyed watching the birds steal our meals from the dining area. Quite hilarious ! All in all, a wonderful hotel to relax and be pampered. Thank you Royal Lahaina !

    We will definitely come back to this resort. It wasn’t too fancy, nor was it low budget. They upgraded our room for our honeymoon, right when we got there! :) The location was perfect, right next to the beach & shops, with a beautiful view! The staff was courteous and helpful. Housekeeping was there early to clean our room.
