The Clift was a great place to stay for our week in San Francisco. The hotel has a very funky decor and the staff are really amazing! This is the place to be on a Friday or Saturday night, too. I would definitely recommend the Clift to anyone looking for something cool and different!

Quote: For the Buddha Bar aficionado that I am, I was looking forward to staying at the Clift. Besides, I liked the ambiance of the Morgans hotels in Dublin and Miami. This is the place to see and be seen. Very trendy. However, not a place I would take the family back to and definitely not my teenage daughter. She may have found it cool but it was borderline. The rooms are small and the bathroom very tiny so definitely not enough space for the 3 of us. The service is OK. A little different from other classy (but classic) hotels. A quite young staff in modern outfit. While the hotel, among a lot of other hotels, is in a very convenient (near Union Square) location, it turns out to be a very inconvenient walk given the number of street people all along these popular touristy streets, especially in the evenings. I visited dozens of cities around the world. I have never seen something like this. I wish I could pay an extra tax to help these poor people out and keep them off the street. In conclusion, if you are a wealthy 25-35, looking to impress your partner, this would be a good place to go and stay at least once, not for romance but to show how trendy you are! Do stay inside the hotel and enjoy the evening. You can also watch a show at the nearby (2 minutes) Comedy Theater.

This hotel seems like a Alice in wonderland adventure... Where there were huge chairs and dark and narrow hallways. It was very hip and modern. My favorite part was the shower... it was like sanding underneath a waterfall... I loved it...:)
