    the hotel was PRETTY. The ambiance was very good; the gas log fire in the room was wonderful. The room was very clean. The maids moved personal property around at their convenience, however. The 'Internet capability' was terrible. I was unable to get online long enough to turn in two required papers for my college courses, and received F's in both classes as a result. The Continental Breakfast was mediocre. They kept running out of bowls and kept people waiting. They also ran out of bagels, and had only one toaster to service the whole breakfast. There was no 'sweep' under the room doors and icy cold breezes were allowed into the room.

    The hotel is within walking distance of both Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row. Fisherman's Wharf is about a 5 minute walk and Cannery Row is 1.2 miles from the wharf. There's a sign on the path, I didn't measure it :) The walk is beautiful, right along the water where you can see harbor seals, sea lions and sea otters doing their thing in the harbor. The property was really pretty and well maintained. The room we had (a jr suite) was spacious, well laid out and very comfortable. There was even a fireplace! It was clean and offered turn down service in the evening. The staff were really nice and very helpful. If you're planning on going to the aquarium (highly recommended) buy your tickets at the front desk to avoid waiting in line when you get there. I would definitely stay here again, it was really nice!
