The room was pretty good. It was very clean. The beds were nice. It was nothing over the top exceptional but I was definitely satisfied. The one thing that I was somewhat unhappy with was the customer service representatives that I talked to when I called in to confirm my reservation. They were not from the union square Hilton and were extremely unhelpful. Other than that everything worked out well and I was happy.

Our stay at this hotel was "ok". Our room had a bad odor that seemed to be coming from the carpet. When we tried to use the gym in the hotel, we were told by quite rude front desk staff that there is a fee to use the gym, even though we are Hilton Honors members. Apparently you have to reach a certain level in the Hilton Honors program before you can use the fitness center for free. This was an unexpected and unwelcome surprise. On the plus side, our king size corner room was HUGE and when bad weather cancelled our flight, we were able to stay an extra night without a problem. Overall, I would say this hotel wasn't anything special and wouldn't recommend staying here unless you get a really cheap rate. There are definitely better hotels in Union Square.

Overall a very enjoyable hotel stay. There is an incident I need to raise. I travelled with my family and left our passports in the room safe box for security. We forgot to remove the passports upon our checkout. Five days later having travelled and stayed at other parts of northen California, we did not realized the missing passports. As we were preparing to return home on an early flight, we realized that the passports was missing. After backtracking frantically, we called the hotel but they refused confirmation until the current guest wakes up. After countless pleas, the hotel security entered the room and confirm that the passports are still in the safe. It must be our luck because after 5 days the safe was never evacuated. With less than 2 hours left, we drove from San Jose (within speed limit) back to the hotel and retrieve the passports. We managed to get back to the airport in SF and made it home that day. Did not get to see the manager in charge but I know she did made an exception and disturbed the guest to retrieve our passports. Thanks.
