    We were late getting to the hotel due to airline issues but our son had driven up from LA to meet us. The hotel staff recommended a parking garage across the street for parking so that helped him out. The staff made us feel welcome and helped in making dinner reservations and recommendations. The hotel is close to a lot of dining alternatives and walking to the streetcar stop so we were able to walk rather than drive to a lot of sightseeing stuff. We would stay there again.

    I took a week long trip with my brother to explore the beautiful San Francisco bay area that I've heard so much about. Since we were flying in from the east coast and wanted a walkable city, we had to pick a hotel that was accessible to everything - and we chose wisely! Hilton San Francisco is located in a really clean part of the city and we were close to everything - Bart, places to grab a quick bite to eat, Chinatown, Cable cars, Market Street, and more. I was really impressed with the service we received from the concierge. She fixed us up with the best deal on a car rental and told us the best places to eat in Napa and Sonoma Valley and all the little tidbits she could offer. We were really thankful for her help. One thing I did miss in this hotel that I would have liked to have is a free breakfast. We got by of course, but a free breakfast is always a nice thing to have when you're traveling - one less thing to worry about.

    We enjoyed dinner in the hotel lobby restaurant. A bit pricey, not terribly so for San Francisco. Hotel is in a great location, walking distance to the best shopping. The room was spacious and comfortable. We were traveling with our two teenage boys, and this was the last stop on an over 3,000 road trip. San Francisco, itself, has gotten a bit grimy and the pan handlers are much more aggressive, but this hotel was up to our standards for a quick trip to a city we love.

    I normally stay at a different hotel when I am in the City. However, due to a large convention it was full so Ii went with the Hilton. Never again. The room that I got booked into, one of the last avalaible, was literally the size of a large closet. It had 7 foot ceilings and was dark. Very depressing. I paid $299 for the "privilege" of staying there. Fortunately, it was only one night. When I checked out the bellman laughed and it was the smallest room in the hotel and that I should not have been charged full price. I will not return to that hotel.

    We had made reservations in advance, but the room with the beds selected was not available upon check-in. The courteous clerk immediately upgraded to a mini-suite. The room was fabulous! Conceirge servces were prompt and informative. The location of this hotel was only secondary to the amenities that were available such as a heated pool and spa, hotel dining and Starbucks! Would stay here again and are recommending this hotel to our friends!
