I stayed here during a conference and primarily wanted a clean, quiet place to stay (with amenities) so I could spend my energy on the conference and not on where I was staying. The Westin San Diego met those needs for me. I was on the 14th floor so while I could hear the train bells from the tracks 3 blocks away they were very muted especially with the curtains closed. (And you can't avoid the trains in downtown SD, unless you are over towards the Gaslamp Quarter which has noise issues of its own). The room was clean, though some small features of the room needed repair. There was a note on the desk from management saying all rooms are scheduled for renovation soon, though, and the issues didn't affect overall feel of the room. It was comfortable too. I liked that the mini fridge was large enough for a full half-gallon carton of milk so I could save a little money on breakfasts by going to the 7-11 or grocery store. The fitness center was well organized and seemed to have enough machines during early morning workout times. The little cafe station in the lobby has good (steel-cut) oatmeal for a decent price for inexpensive breakfast along with Starbucks drinks and other breakfast items. The concierge made some great recommendations for places to eat when I was in the mood for specific things. It is easy walking distance to Horton Plaza, Gaslamp Quarter, Maritime Museum and other on-the-water attractions. I am female and felt fine walking alone (though I was never out past about 9:30pm since I was on Central time).

From the time we were greeted at the frontdesk by Nate all the way to checkout, we received phenomenal service. Nate made sure we had a beautiful room since we mentioned it was our anniversary. He gave us a couple of drink coupons to celebrate the the gal working in the lounge was awesome!!! The room was super comfy an we slept great. Breakfast was the greatest surprise when our lovely waitress brought us a yummy dessert after breakfast because of the occasion, THEN, she informed us that our breakfast had been comped and wish us a happy anniversary. The spa they recommended was also wonderful and right around the corner from the hotel. First class hotel all the way around!

This hotel was so beautiful! I loved the view from my window of the city and bay! The rooms were awesome and the bed felt like I was sleeping on a cloud! I definitely got my money's worth! Also many restaurants just walking distance from hotel! I would love to visit this place again!!
