There are not many choices for 1 or 2 night accomodations on Molokai. This hotel could use some TLC. New flat screen TVs but the beds/rooms need attention. The restaurant was being renovated following a fire so we did not have any amenities to rate.

Restaurant and bar right next to the water which is relaxing and scenic. The food is good. The price is a little more but so is everything else on the island. The beach is not swimable and they sometimes close the pool if they have an event at the restaurant. There is a mini spa but no other amenities like tennis weight room BBQ/picnic area Child care/daycare. Rooms have been upgraded and are nice and clean but no a/c. They do have lanai cable tv mini fridge and/or microwave. Rented the larger upgraded room that had sink and stove top also. The Hotel is central on Molokai and about 6 mins from the main town. Most of the staff are very nice pleasant and helpful.

Read many very negative reviews of the Hotel Molokai, but found this to be a very charming place. The accommodations were clean, there had been some nice updating, and the service was superb. This is an old hotel in a very favorable location. The overall economy of Hawaii, and Molokai in particular, has taken its toll on places like this, but, if you are looking for reasonable accommodations on "the most Hawaiian of the Islands" this would be the place. Don't expect this to compare with the glitzier Hawaiian locations, but if you are wanting to slow down and relax for a while, you will enjoy the Hotel Molokai (and there is free musical entertainment every night of the week).
