    My Kids and I went to Hawaii and stayed at the Royal Kona. We paid for a partial room view, but when we got there we were given a free upgrade to a full ocean view and it was beautiful. It is slightly outdated and the grounds could use some love,but it was within walking distance to stores resteraunts and surfing! Would go back in a heartbeat.

    Hotel is comfortable and clean. Rooms and exterior are in need of updating, but in good condition compared to the cost to stay there. Hotel is within walking distance to resturants and shops. Onsite resturant and bar a little pricey, but convientent, compared to what is close by.

    This was the second time at the Royal Kona Resort. We were there for 10 days on February 2011. We found the value, service and accommodations as good or better than two years ago. We would return in a heart beat.

    We loved the location! Best ploace in Kona for MaiTais and sunset. Our bed however was terrible. Everything elase was good, but the beds need replacing. This was certainly THE place years ago, and the property has been neglected. Some TLC is in order. Staff was good.

    Customer Service is excellent here, Staff very nice and helpful. Restaurant food good. Nice grounds,but needs to be manicured more. The bathrooms in the common area (lobby) need more attention.. Did not like the fact that I had to pay for internet service. The worst, was the bed. Hard as a rock..Woke up with back aches, both my Husband and myself. Maybe other rooms are better not sure,but glad I only stayed 2 nights. Great view from our room.
