The Pros: Good location, nice ocean view and close walk to Lydgate Park. Very reasonable rate and beds were clean and comfortable. We met a lot of very friendly down to earth guests. The Cons: At one time this was a very nice hotel, unfortunately that time was LONG AGO. Over the years it appears that the bare minimum in maintenance has been done. There is a lot of potential in this facility that is being wasted. The restaurant is very large but mostly unused with little options for dining. The free WiFi barely broadcasts in a circle about 20ft in the lobby. You see a bunch of people clustered together looking like a reunion by the front desk. It's guests trying to check their Email! The pools are tiled,(makes a pretty pic), but have huge loose patches of tiles in the bottom. Good luck getting a pool towel, it seems they're always out. They have the nerve to charge a resort fee to cover this?? There was a DVD rental kiosk that I wanted to toss in the ocean. Either broken, out of movies, or DVDs were scratched/worn out. It was almost a sport trying to get a movie and a pool towel each day. Over All: I'm the kind of person who likes a deal. This place is that. If you're looking for a 4 star resort..... keep looking. Once you get in the groove of how this place rolls, you can start to actually enjoy it. Every one on staff was nice and willing to help. You can really let your hair down here and enjoy a laid back time.

The hotel is located 15 minutes from Lihue airport which was convenient, but the best thing about the hotel was the central location on the island. One day we traveled north, the next day south and the drive time was about the same for both days. If we stayed in Princeville the drive to Waimea would have been quite long. The downside of the hotel was the outdated/wornout bed, furniture, tv, playstation 2, and bath fixtures. However, if you are looking for a place to lay your head while you explore Kauai then this is it.

This hotel is good for the money. Restourant meals are overpriced. The most thing i liked about this hotel is a good location, it is very close to the nice beach and trail. the room itself is ok, bed was not comfortable, in the first room i have moved in airconditioning was very loud and room was very smelly, so they gave me another room which was much better. The things i didn't like about this hotel that they charge $10.per night for safebox, newspaper, DVDs and coffee in the room, but safebox didn't work in ether room, i didn;t care about newspaper and DVDs and coffee supplies were very limited. So overall I would recomend this hotel if you want to save money and stay in great location.
