Decent hotel. Nice, clean and up to date. $15 a day surcharge for use of health club, free newspaper and wifi that don't work too good. Otherwise a little above average price for stay. Got a good promotion for free brunch buffet per day for 2 up to $40 max.

We booked a strip view room with a king bed. When we got to our room, it was a view of the freeway to the west. They moved us to another room, it was pool view. Third attempt, we had a strip view room. However, it had two queen beds. They told us no king bed rooms were available. Also, the check in was very slow, despite the fact that there were no lines. The furniture and fixtures in the rooms are in really bad shape and the carpeting needs replacement. The bathtub faucet dripped constantly. Also, they ration towels. Everyday we had to call for additional towels. They smelled like burnt pizza. No coffee maker or fridge in the room. They wont change your sheets unless you request them to. The hotel web site features a wave pool. we were really looking forward to swimming and sitting by the pool. Well, they had a wave pool, but there was no water in it ! Very disappointing that we were not informed of this. The casino was OK, but they have poll dancers, dancing on the bar in the middle of the casino. We went to a restaurant in the hotel called D'Vino's. It was really, really bad. The only good thing about the Monte Carlo is the tram that you can take to adjacent hotels and casinos.

Had reserved a Monaco Suite (premium) with a Strip View, guaranteed. Upon arrival no Monaco Suites were available, so was "upgraded" to a Spa Suite. Somehow the Strip View disappeared in the upgrade, replaced by a limited view of pool and entry to Aria. Plus, it would have taken half our 4-night visit to fill up the Spa, which was right in front of the extremely dirty window, so it never got used. Spa took up a large portion of room. Also, the pool's wave machine (one of the draws of staying there) was inoperable (empty), and nobody seemd to know why. To top it off, the rooms don't even come with coffee makers. What's up with that? To summarize: good things - large comfortable room (suite), very clean, very pleasant staff throughout the hotel and casino; bad things - didn't honor view paid for, filthy window, broken pool, too expensive (not good value for the price paid), won't stay there again.
