    We always get the ocean-view room. It's the only reason we stay here! It's an older hotel, but the upkeep is excellent. My children love the fact we can walk out of our room and onto the beach! Room access is from an exterior walkway. Before if your drapes were open other guests could see into your room. No More! They recently added blinds that occupants can see out but no one can see in. Staff was great. Free WI-FI, they are adding flat screen televisons. There are fees for parking and the Monterey environment. A little green helps keep Monterey green! The 10-minute drive to Cannery Row is okay with me. At night I'd rather listen to the ocean than the nightlife. Again, get the Ocean View room! You can walk along the beach for breakfast, after a day at the aquarium, walk along the beach in the afternoon, and after dinner a moonlit walk. IIt is really right on the beach!

    We had a wonderful time here. Right on the beach, listen to the sound of the surf all night while a gentle breeze comes through the window. The first floor is blocked by the sea wall, but the other levels have wonderful views. Everything you could want is close by. Trails, surfing, mountain biking, hang gliding what do you want?
    We only got to spend two night there and one day was foggy and the other was warm and sunny. Both days were enjoyable with plenty of things to do.
    The room was very nice, with clean everything and fresh flower on the table. It had a t.v. but when was there time to watch it. Came with a iron and board, hair dryer, refer (you have to turn it on though) and everything else was very nice. They even sepaerate the parking fee from the room fee so it won't get taxed. I highly recommend this hotel 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors.

    Sound of wave from the meeting room is calming when the arguments get nasty. Great for business travelers. Close to Staple but not so close to entertainments and great restaurants. However, I am not sure for holiday. The beach was great view but may not that great for family to enjoy. Staff are efficient and friendly enough for business travelers.

    Heated out door swimming pool was fun. Good business center. Cooked oat meal with dried fruits for breakfast was good. The fitness room was good. Door to the room was out side. Depend of purpose of the trip, getting to the room is a long walk. Building was old. This is not so bad, because they cannot build hotel such close to sea anymore.

    I booked as a part group. I think we are charged as ocean view rate and I stayed in a parking lot view room. So please make sure which type of room you are booking and what you get. This is a big difference.

    We have 5 kids with age's from 1-10. Our stay was very nice. The staff and other guests were very friendly. We stayed here when there was a tearible storm. It was somuch fun to watch the waves. We can't wait to come back when it's not rainning!

    We generally enjoyed our stay at this hotel. However, when we arrived, we were told there was a $10 parking fee. There was no on-site parking except in their parking garage, and that fee was not disclosed prior to our arrival. The funny thing here is there isn't any way to get to the hotel without a car. It's outside Seaside and outside Monterey. So unless you're an avid hiker you must pay the extra fee. Would I have stayed here if the fee were $10 higher. Yes. Will I stay here again because I was treated this way. NO.
