    The Best Western Plus Blue Sea Lodge did not meet the expectations and standards set by its website. The only positive comment that I can make is that the hotel it is located on the beach. Otherwise, the accommodations were terrible. The room was cramped and not suited to a family of four as promised and it never felt clean. The floors and beds were constantly damp from the ocean air and the ventilation system was extremely poor. The bathroom was small and not well-stocked with towels or amenities. Smoking was allowed on balconies so that even our non-smoking room was polluted by the smell of cigarettes. As a result, we could rarely leave the sliding door open and the room became stuffy and moist . Outside of the room, the pool and spa were constantly filled with sand and other filth and the deck chairs were shabby and dirty. I would not return to this hotel and I would not recommend it to other vacationers.

    Love this hotel!! If you're in San Diego for the beach, park your car, and leave it parked until you leave-it's THAT close to everything you need! Just a glass wall separating you from the boardwalk and beach!! Restaurants are all within walking distance. Nice pool area, and very comfortable rooms...AAA+++

    The room was close to the beach. you could drive or walk to eat. rooms were very nice and the decor wasn't dated like you'd expect.

    I love this city and try a new Hotel every time we go. Blue Sea Lodge was a good place to stay and a great location! The only thing I think I would change is maintance. We had to use the stairs several times because of the elevator being out of commison, then the door handle into the stairs was busted. They just need to stay more on top of the work that needs to be done. Beds are never going to be as good as home, but that is to be expected no matter where you stay.

    For the money this hotel was a great value. It was right off the beach and had great proximity to food and fun. The room was comfortable and the fact we could open up the sliding door and hear the ocean was awesome. Our room had a slanted view of the ocean but it was economical and served it's purpose well.
