    I got a good deal on this hotel and went with it. If all you want a clean, decent-sized room with a private bathroom that is centrally located, this is your place. The rooms are not big, but they do not make you feel boxed-in like many budget (and even pricier) hotels in NYC. It is also 4 blocks to Central Park. The only down-side is the elevators are small and can fill up quickly with 27 (as I recall) floors. That is a very minor complaint. It is not the 4 Seasons, but fits the bill for what it is.

    I was very surprised by the room and the location. I had stayed at the Omni last time in NYC and was not expecting The Wellington to be as good. The Room was large by NY standards and the bathroom great and clean. The staff was as good as I have ever had. Willing to help and answer questions. In fact, upon my departure the doorman ran me down to the entrance of the underground. He had thought I left my wallet on the front desk. It wasn't mine but his kindness and attention describes the whole week at the property. Also the location is excellent. To block from the park (north ) and 5 blocks to broadway and times square(south). The subways are all within one block. Found the bar on the last day. It had the best martini I had the whole week! Didn't try the restaurant.
