Who says the holidays in Florida are all about sunshine and palm trees? Prepare for the coolest winter on record as Gaylord Palms presents ICE., a walk-through attraction hand-carved from nearly TWO MILLION pounds of ice.
The attraction is carved by a team of 40 artisans from Harbin, China. The talented artisans spend more than a month in Kissimmee creating this one-of-a-kind attraction. Harbin is best known for its annual International Ice and Snow Festival, where more than 2,000 sculptors annually carve a 100-acre walk-through Ice Park from ice taken from the Songhua River.
The resort's signature four-acre glass atrium reflecting three distinct Florida environments including the historic charm of St. Augustine, the funky island revelry of Key West, and the eclectic Everglades (complete with live alligators).
This Florida experience continues with the Art Deco South Beach swimming pool reserved for the resort's adult guests - and the Marine Activities Pool with octopus slide and sandy beach play area for families. For relaxation and pampering, guests Canyon Ranch SpaClub and fitness center. World-class dining experiences await at Old Hickory Steakhouse and Sunset Sam's Fishcamp and Villa de Flora, casual dining is at H2O Sports Bar & Grille, and evenings are spent at Auggies Jammin' Piano Bar. Valet parking is available for 20 per day. Self parking is also available for 12 per day.
Keeping with the theme, the guestrooms are decorated in the style of Saint Augustine, Everglades, Emerald Bay, and Key West. All units have satellite TV, desks, refrigerators stocked with two bottles of water daily, hairdryers, safes (fitted with AC outlet for recharging laptops), CD players, ceiling fans, coffeemakers, video game consoles, designer toiletries, irons, and voicemail.
Note that a 15 plus tax resort fee is charged per night; it covers daily newspaper, two bottles of water, and high-speed Internet.
