Ok, so if you want to stay in a hotel "close" to downtown for cheap then this is it. Let me first define "close". I mean, you can't walk out the door and there's downtown chicago but you're approximately a mile away so it's like a 5 minute car ride or pick up the train stop literally across the street. The area..not being from Chicago it seems like an area that's transitioning..I never felt unsafe ever but if you go 5 blocks south to me personally...it seemed a little seedy. Again, I wouldn't let this discourage you. They have a bar that's open at night that was nice. It doesn't serve food though. Even though Travel online says they have wifi, they don't. You can plug into the wall though, they'll provide you a cord. The workout room was good enough. They had a few cardio bikes, some free weights, and a cable machine. Overall, I paid $* a night compared to $* a night up the road, I would recommend this hotel if you don't want to splurge on a hotel but still be by downtown.

A totally positive experience. Location was great with easy access to highway 55. Hotel was clean and in good condition. Room was very large and well appointed, although there was no coffee maker.Staff was courteous and friendly. Smoke-free hotel. Best of all I didn't see it on the website but off-street parking is included, right next to the hotel!
