I am just back from a stay at the Nassau Palm. on July 23, 2009. This hotel was horrible. I am usually not one to complain but this place was a dump. The worst thing about it was the fact that there were bugs everywhere. These weren’t ants, they looked more like termites and they were EVERYWHERE- no lie! We had to have maintenance come and fix the bed frame because it fell apart and when we opened the balcony door, the lock fell off the door. Also, about the beds, we had a double room but one bed was a full size and there other was a queen- that’s weird. The mattress appeared to have every type of body fluid stain you could image- nasty!!! The bathroom and tub was outdated and dirty. There is only one working pool. Watch out it goes up to 6 ft. One side of the hotel is closed off to the public- I never found out way but it didn’t look like they were doing reservation or anything it was just closed off. Next thing the traffic in front of the hotel ;leading to the beach; is really dangerous - WATCH OUT!!! Lastly, watch out for the solicitor in the lobby trying to get you to sign up for timeshares and other stuff. Okay, now for some positives, the breakfast was better than most continental, the security guards were good always visible and the lobby was clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The convenience store inside of the hotel was useful as well as the bar and smoke shop.

  • Friendly staff but the hotel needs work!

I hate to start out negative but here it goes. The carpet in my room was severely stained and needed replacing as well as the fabric on the lounge chair and ottoman. The bathtub had old dirt rings and the toilet had rust stains. The towels were hard too. The room had a stale odor for a non-smoking room and the ceiling fan was heavily laced with dust. I didn't want to turn on the fan due to so much dust and I was almost worried about sleeping in the bed for fear of bed bugs. I managed anyway. The lamp shades were stained with rusted rims and the TV stand had missing knobs. Next, the buffet service for dinner was late by an hour; or two: the staff didn't seem to know the correct time. The ice machine on the fifth floor was broken my entire stay; I had to keep going to the fourth floor. The vending machine was also meagerly stocked and staff wasn't aware they even had one in the hotel. The elevator also had a hiccup; it would light up at the fifth floor but would let you out on the fourth floor. I woke up to a great view of the water but I never saw anyone swimming at the beach which is across from the hotel nor did I see anyone at the the hotel pool. The hotel is in a great spot; the fish fry shacks are to the left and the straw market, Senor Frogs, and ferry boats to Atlantis are to the right. Overall I had fun and would visit the Bahamas again, just at a cleaner upgraded hotel! Happy trails.

our stay was really pleasant here. the ladies at the front of the hotel were very friendly and funny. the entire hotel staff was very nice to us...weren't aware of the $1 you had to pay though for every phone call we made, but was okay since we didn't make a whole bunch. it's within walking distance to just about everything. could be cleaner, but forunetly we had an okay room.
