We did not know what to expect, booking this hotel on line. This hotel location was fabulous, right on the boardwalk and beach. The room was adequate, the bathroom extremely small, barely room for one (hopefully just this room). I would stay at this hotel again, as the room was comfortable overall and the location absolutely beautiful. Wish we had an extra day to take advantage of this wonderful hotel on the beach in Miami. I give it 4 plus stars.

I've stayed in hotels that are in the midst of construction before. For example, Treasure Island in Las Vegas. During TI's construction process, they informed potential guests of the construction upfront and offered discounted room rates. They also blocked out all rooms in the floors two above and two below in which they were working. The Palms knew of this construction the night we checked in, but we did not. The employee at the check-in desk informed us that we had the option of a King smoking room on the 2nd floor, or Twin non-smoking room on the 10th floor. We deliberated with the check-in employee. We decided on the Twin non-smoking room on the 10th floor. The employee should have steered us to the 2nd floor. The next morning, I was startled and thrown out of my slumber at 7a.m. The construction was happening on the very floor above us. Not quiet construction, but electric sanders and hammer drills into concrete. LOUD. AT 7AM! When my husband called management to complain, mngmt only stated "They weren't supposed to start until 9a.m." No apology was given! We asked for another room. He told us he'd find one and call us back. He never called us back. By the way, I did check out the 2nd floor and the sound was very muffled and liveable. They should not have booked anyone on the 10th floor; the floor directly below the construction! This hotel was very rude. We checked out one night early and was only refunded the amount for the evening we did not stay. We should have been offered a full refund considering they got $* from us in incidentals, and I didn't get 8hrs of sleep. Management will be the ruin of this hotel.

We woke up at 7am to pounding and extremely loud construction work. All in multiple units above & next to us. Management was rude and did not apologize, and did not offer anything other than another noisy room IF/WHEN it becomes available. Basically, told to deal with it. Why is this hotel open during major construction? Who trained these folks on customer service? -Also they advertise it like you are in South Beach. You are not... very sketchy area.
