Don't let the negative reviews from some steer you away. I stayed in a beachside bungalow and had such a relaxing beautiful time. The beach is not the most pristine or private but fire pits at night are awesome and view of the bay at sunset was cool. There was a large corporate olympics on the sand in front of my bungalow one day, very entertaining to watch. Furnishings are quaint, homey and the bungalow was kept immaculately clean. All 5 pools are FABulous. Main pool of course is more crowded but poolside cafe and food were delicious, not overpriced. Fancy restaurant was absolutely delicious, romantic, beautiful, maybe a little pricey but fortunately I was not paying the tab. Service outstanding. The whole place was beautifully gardened with pools, walking trails, golf course, and wonderful gift shop/coffee bar. You can walk across the highway to Sea World though I didn't go since never wanted to leave the grounds. If you're prissy and expecting that type of luxury resort, stay away. Spa services looked excellent too though never wanted to come inside and workout room was extra. Yes, I dropped a few bucks but hope to go back annually. Conference facilities amazing too, great view, food and service.

Paradise Point has all the charm of an RV park done in early-80's polynesian kitsch. While the staff genuinely tries hard, it doesn't make up for the lack of privacy and the generally poor condition of the facilities. Tired, dirty, and overpriced, Paradise Point needs to be retired in a big way. The biggest surprise was the lack of privacy. The "mile-and-a-half of beach they boast in their marketing is actually a public beach, so we were quite surprised when an extended family reunion of 20 or so spent the day literally camped in front of our "ocean-room" really a bay view. "Exclusive" and "private," this place is not. What else? The beach itself is more of a tidal basin than a fun place for your kids to hang out and build sand castles. The room architecture is baffling. 8-foot ceilings, little air circulation, and an odd wedge shaped configuration made the stay generally uncomfortable. The main pool was overcrowded and filthy and seemed to be a popular drop-off point for local kids (though the other pools were better). The food is mediocre at best--barely edible at worst--where every dish we ordered seemed to be some bland combination of Sysco ingredients. And the landscaping crew saw no problem at all starting their work with blowers at 6am. On the plus side (there is one), the staff is friendly and tries their best to please, and the bay is pleasant to sit beside. Fortunately, my kid is young enough that she can have fun playing in a puddle of mud, and my wife and I are relatively flexible and rolled with the punches. But this does not make up for the rest of a below-average stay at a resort that must resort to deceptive marketing to lure you in.
