the room was appointed nicely, high ceilings but no view whatsoever. I could hear normal conversation from the next room. There is no courtyard or area to sit in other than a small foyer,so after walking around for some hours there was nowhere to relax other than the room.

If you have any lung or asthma problems, do not stay at this hotel. As soon as you walk into the lobby you are blindsided by the mildew smell! I started to wheeze by the time we got to our room. The rooms are very shabby and and need to be upgraded. The bathrooms are so small you can sit on the toilet and brush your teeth at the same time! The beds wobble and the walls are so thin that when the people in the next room were in their bed, their headboard kept bumping the wall and actually moved my bed!! It was like staying in a skid row hotel. I was mortified. the tv's were at least 10 years old and tiny (I'm sure most people who visit N O could care less about this though!) The Hotel was very clean but the linens and bed covers have seem better days. The evening desk clerk was rude and condescending and appeared to be less than happy when we had concerns about the room, although helpful when we wanted to change to their sister hotel. I'm sure this was only because he didn't want to have to do anything else for us and was probably glad we were going! I have stayed at other FQ hotels and they have been modern and not mildewy so there is no excuse for this hotel to be so shabby. Old New Orleans charm can only go so far! I would not recommend this hotel, it really isn't worth the money...and it wan't that expensive!

Stayed at the Prince Conti for four nights in mid October. The room was large, the bed was comfortable and maid service was excellent. Only one half block from Bourbon St. in the heart of the French Quarter. Would recommend Johnny's Po Boy on St. Louis, and Redfish Grill on Bourbon near Canal St. Good food, moderately priced.

I have stayed in many places in New Orleans over the last 15 years. My favorite has always been the Monteleone. This place may have changed my mind. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were very nice, the location is perfect. None of the noise inside that others have spoken of. Zero fron Bourbon. Great for the cool seasons, my lady has no taste for pools and swimsuits. I am a courteous smoker and am a little disappointed to have to step downstairs with bedhair for a puff. But it worked out fine.

if you really want to enjoy new orleans and absorb the ambience and feel the vitality of the french quarter go in the off season when you can walk down the street unmolested and without having to chain your wife and valuables to your person. as a mardi gras veteran , my first i was 16 years old , and have been to at least 15 you may end up freezing and wet depending on the year because a new orleans february is as unpredictable as weather can be. If you go to new orleans for mardi gras expect to pay $ a night for a french quarter hotel. when you go to the french quarter you want to park your car and walk everywhere you go.the prince conti is one of the finest hotels in the quarter, great location, valet private parking lot and great off season price. september-october is when you can enjoy yourself in the quarter and live to write a review.Fantastic hotel!!!!!!!!!!!
