We booked our trip through travel agency and were pleased overall with this hotel. The view from our room was just the tops of the other buildings, but we didn't ask to for another room. The location was great and there was a terrific cafe' nearby that we ate a quick breakfast at 3 out of the 4 days we were there. The subway station was just a few steps away. It was a good hotel for the money, but not quite as nice as the other Doubletree hotels we've stayed all across the country.

Doubletree Needs Higher Standards

If you need to stay in this area, stay at another hotel. This hotel is so not worth the $305 average rate per night on my recent stay. The reason I stayed here is because I needed to be in meetings held at the Waldorf Astoria and the hotel was close by. Much nicer rooms can be had in other areas for a much better rate. 1. The room was hot. There's a thermostat in the room, but I think it's just for show. Put it on 60 or put it on 85 and you get the same results. Hotels need to let us control our own air. The bed had a feather comforter. I had to take it off and only sleep with sheets. 2. The hotel lobby is not nice. They appear to be renovating their bar because the bar is literally in the hallway leading to the elevators. As you can guess, it's in the way. The lobby is small and really has no nice qualities. 3. The security is somewhat lacking. There is a guy checking your keys to go to your room at night. But come in at 3 a.m. like I did a couple nights, and no one is there to check. No one was at the front desk. I easily got to my room with no questions. 4. The room I had was extremely small. I had a king bed. There was a desk on the opposite wall. You could barely squeeze into the chair to sit at the desk. For the price, the room was way too small. 5. Internet access is too expensive. It was $14.95 per day. 6. Overall the room wasn't very nice. The hotel seems extremely dated. There is no way this is a 4 star hotel.

all staff was extremely helpful and nice. Rooms were good only thing the comforter was down and I was allergic to it. Didn't discover what was making my eyes water until last day and saw the comforters were down.
