This hotel is the actual cradle of Elite Hotels Sweden. The building dates back to the 1950s and first served as a dormitory. At the end of the 1960s the president and owner of Elite Hotels, Bicky Chakraborty, came from Calcutta in India to Stockholm to study at the university. Bicky and his fellow students thought it was a waste that the dormitory rooms were empty during the summer months so they started to rent them out. After a while it became a year-round business and the hotel, Domus, was founded. In 1995 it was renamed Arcadia and it will soon be renovated into a first-class hotel - an Elite Hotel. Hotel Arcadia is located in the north of Stockholm's city center. A few minutes walk will take you to the heart of Sweden's capital city, where you will find shops, museums, restaurants and nightlife. The subway, situated close to the hotel, will take you to the Central station where buses and trains can take you quickly to Arlanda Airport.
