3 of my friends and I went to Miami for the 2009 Memorial Day weekend events. When we first arrived at the hotel we noticed that we had been fooled by the pretty pictures that were posted on the internet. The outside lounge area was dirty and ants were on the couches. We stayed in a very small room with double beds.Once we brought our luggage in the room we had no walking room at all.It was cluttered. The bathroom was extra small also.It was hot in the room so we tried to change the temperature. We couldn't.It was set at 75 degrees. We kept trying to adjust the temp to stay at 60 degrees but it kept going back to 75 degrees. So we left and went to eat. When we came back to our room we noticed a bug crawling on the bed.We lifted the sheets and found a bed full of bugs, ants, maggots, etc.We were so grossed out, pissed, hurt, and disappointed. We called the front desk worker to come take a look. She offered to have maintenance come spray our room and said that we should be ok after that.R u kidding me?Then she said that b/c of the humidity in Miami it causes places to have bugs and that's normal. She offered us another room but we wanted out of that hotel. She said there was nothing more she could do to help and she didn't understand why we wanted to leave. She was rude and not helpful. She said we'd have to wait til the next morning to speak with her manager. So we left and went to another hotel. The next morning we came back and told the manager what happened. She gladly gave us a refund and apologized. She was very polite but she didn't seem surprised by our story. We probably weren't the first guest to complain about

The rooms were SOOOO SMALL. We stayed in a room with two beds and there wasnt even enough room to maneuver around the beds! The bathroom was really small but it did have a shower made of all glass and a mirror ;) so it was hot. But that was it, there were two beds a mini bar a bathroom and a closet all shoved into space the size of someones bathroom. The staff was uppity and weird. The hotel did have a nice patio area with wi-fi (sometimes) and you could smoke hookah or ciggs allll day if you wanted to. They have a restaraunt with great food and good portions and they also offer all guests a free happy hour from 7-8 pm but you have to get about 10 drinks to feel tipsy. We just went across the street to the liqour stores and made our own drinks. The location of this hotel was PERFECT everything was within walking distance, the beach is about 3 blocks up. and all the clubs and resataraunts you could possibly want are right up the street. The main annoying thing was that our keys kept gettin deactivated..literally everyday we would have to get a new key because they KEPT getting demagnetized, the staff was cool with it which led us to believe this happens a lot. I would reccomend this hotel as long as you plan on not staying it all day, it's sort of dark and depressing indoors but Miami was always beautiful.

we ended up paying much more extra $$$ for our stay, including parking, resort fee though we never used any of the services included in that fee. for example, the free drink only lasts from 7-8pm at the bar. how convenient -- during our dinner time! and the bar is very loud which is next to our room!

Hotel is located in decent area. Air conditioning was ice cold, room was clean with a modern look....think ikea design. Nice sized flat screen T.V. Mini CD player, locking safe in closet for valuables, a fully stocked mini bar with fridge in the room along with assorted candy bars. Shower set up looks nice but not very functional. The shower has a clear glass that only blocks half the shower (from faucet wall, then stops half way from back wall)....so when the water hits you it goes out onto the floor??? Since it is real stone work the water dry's in a reasonable time. Water temperature was a bit tough to get right....it seems you must put it on the hot setting and wait about 10 minutes for it to warm up. This hotel offers a happy hour 7-8pm everyday....free vodka or rum drinks for guests.....rum one day, vodka the next. Hotel staff was very accomodating. Across the street is a 24hr convenience store and pizza restaurant. Lots of knock off designer clothing stores too with inexpensive prices. Scooter rentals were within walking distance, you won't need a car here at all. Scooter rental prices were $-$for 24hrs depending on which shop you went to. South Beach really is 24hrs.....if you walk outside at 3am there are still plenty of people outside. Alot of European travelers here. Which brings me to something else.....there are ALOT of homeless people living on the sidewalks in front of stores and in alleyways. At night you will see them laying on a shirt or towel in a storefront alcove or stretched out across the sidewalk....not for the squeamish. Food prices are reasonable everywhere accept on Ocean Drive....and every restaurant/bar adds an 18% tip on the reciept....paying this is optional.

I checked in to this hotel the last two noghts of my 6 day trip, only to find meself in complete disappointment. The rooms are very small and not enough lights to see anything. On top of all that I went to use the bathroom, only to fine a huge 3 inch COCKROACH lying on its back kicking! Then I found another one in the closet.
